Life In A Distant Town...
Basically, nakakabagot dito...
most of my time is spent on waiting and being annoyed at people...
i start my Day waking up with warm rays of sunshine on my face and shivering chills all over my body brought about by the obnoxiosly cold room temperature... blame it on the demon possesed aircom na kahit i-set mo sa low eh saksakan ng lamig yung binibugang hangin lalu na between 4am-9am in the morning...
dahil sa lamig, nakakatamad bumangon, buti nalang i have everything at a table beside my bed... Cellphone, yosi, lighter, ashtray, remote ng TV and Portable DVD player, bottled water at sari saring chicha from cookies to bread and chocolates... konting unat lang, abot kamay na...
i get out of bed usually 30 minutes to an hour after i wake up... syempre sulyap muna bintana ng Hotel para ipon lakas galing sa mid-morning sun... then ligo at balik sa kama sabay nood lit TV habang pinag-iisipan ko kung lalabas ako o hindi after ako tawagan mga mga taong kailangan kong kausapin... usually i get those calles between 9:30am to 11:30am... so by 11:30 sobrang wala nang sense ang pag stay ko sa hotel... kaya lang nakakatamad ding lumabas kasi mapapagastos lang ako, kung di sa kain eh sa taxi... kaya i usually decide on staying inside the room and just watch TV or DVDs... boring di ba... there was even a time na sa sobrang bored ko eh ginawa kong Pick-up Sticks yung binili kong cotton buds... haaaay... nakakalungkot din mag on-line kasi wala naman akong natatanggap na kahit paano from peolple i know...

Enjoy The Silence...
"words are very unnecessary, they could only do harm..." so goes a line from a Depeche Mode song called "Enjoy The Silence"...
haven't been posting much coz i've been too lazy doing band oriented things lately... i haven't even called practice for quite some time now and i guess i'm enjoying it... no need to worry about booking studio slots, no need to worry being annoyed by un-answered text messages... no waiting, no disappointments etc. etc...
i've found joy in going home early... even better is that i've find it more cool just staying home... being home lying on the sofa watching movies as long as i want or simply just sitting infront of the PC googling stuff... away and safe from the harshness of the city during the night...
i'm not losing it though but i guess i'm not that motivated at present either... and i'm not missing it yet... maybe my turning a year older a few days ago has something to do with it... i've been ignoring my age for the past few years now but during my last birthday, i've come to realize that things are really far different from what they were 4, 5, 6 years ago...
anyways, this'll have to do for now... hopefully my Dubai trip come Wednesday would help me sort things out...
also, thanks to everyone who greeted me on my birthday... to Dennis, Kel, Maggot, Rene, Deana, Sir Carl and Lara, thanks for spending your valuable time with me nung Thursday... Here are some pics, sayang Sir carl, di pala kita na kunan...

Candyaudioline Last Night At Mayrics...
we played last night at Mayrics... we really wanted to play more but because we started really late, my planned 6 song spot was trimmed down to just 4... it was still enjoyable, though i was really pissed at myself for not bringing my gear... i just had to content myself with my distortion while Dennis on the otherhand was really sounding way too cool inspite of those really pathetic guitar amps...
watching the video, i guess Ecay has improved a bit more, just forget the last outing we had at Sta. Lucia where she sounded like a 14 year old fronting a metal band... her voice on our first song last night (Wicked Glances) was really something... it had me thinking to go Slowdive-ish the next time i put my head into writing songs again... and also during the second song (Sad Inside) where she was really hitting those high notes properly... Although i just can't comment on the third song (Cellophane Smile) coz Deana was a bit too close to the stage and by this time, we really started turning up our guitars... but i remember hearing her sing the song properly... i can tell she's now very comfortable with songs sung in higher pitches...
we were suppose to do "Pretend" but i decided at the last minute to change the song to "Flaming Walls" just to test how well she could adjust to a situation wherein she has to do an unrehearsed song...
i think she did well this time around although during the last part of the song, she seemed to have lost her consistency... Still it was something to be happy about specially on my part since i wasn't too happy with the last practice session we had the night before wherein she seem to have lost grasp of the right way of delivering the songs... i guess that with a few more practices and some more dedication on her part, she'll be able to do things the way i want it to be done...
praises also for Maggot who did really well inspite of not feeling well and also not being able to practice... and to Kel too for his precise execution... just like how we practiced it, intense but relaxed... as for me and Dennis, we could only wish for some better functioning guitar amps....

Sta. Lucia East Gig... I Miss Playing With My Jaguar
last Saturday we played at Sta. Lucia... it was quite fun although i didn't got to enjoy it that much since i did not bring with me the rest of my effects pedals... For Candy I usually have A Digital Delay, A Chorus, Reverb Delay and A Distortion... That time, i only had my Ratt with me... I could've sounded much better with the rest of my effects pedal specially since i was using my Jaguar... its been a long time since i used this one...
We played about 6 songs that time and i guess we did very well, although i'm not sure if the crowd present liked our songs... after the gig , we all went to Metrowalk for the Kamikazee Gig... we had a great time at Metrowalk, Maggot, Ecay and Deanna went shopping while i on the otherhand bought some toys for my Collection and here's two of my biggest catch for the night...
also here's us at Sta. Lucia doing "An Empty You"

Candyaudioline @ Mayrics... Oct. 20, 2008
its was the first time we played again infront of a mainstream crowd... i kinda missed the feeling of playing infront of unfamiliar territory although we've been there already many time before except for our new singer... although she did say that she was a bit comfortable that night... luckily for us, the crowd was not the usual rawdy bunch that usually frequent such gigs... imagine the line up... us, Ang Bandang Shirley, Pentavia, Concrete Sam, Moonstar88 and Kamikazee...
Here we are doing our last song "Cellophane Smiles"... we were only the first band but already, the amps were busted...
We'll be missing tomorrows Buzz Night... Sad...

Practice Makes... Good Time!!!
Been feeling so sick the whole day... arrived from Qatar at around 4am, got home at around 7am... wasn't able to get some sleep the whole morning itl early afternoon... blame it on coffee and some really large helpings of Liemposilog from Marlets - "Mura Na Madumi Pa"... na-miss ko kaya kumain ng Pork Meat... went to a Backbeat band recording at around 2pm only to be cancelled at around 3:30pm... got back home at around 5pm... tried to get some sleep but not until 7pm... woke up at around 8;40pm feeling more sick than ever and realising that i had committed by bandmates to a practice session in preparation for this Weds gweilos stint... well it was worth it...
everyone showed-up on time for practice and everyone except for her "Royal Hotness" was feeling really ill... Drummer Boy was with LBM (pinilit ko lang talaga sya pumunta), Weh was down with a nasty flu that had her sneezing all night long, Wally was really sleepy until around 12 midnight when he received a text message from a "Booking Agent Friend"...
actually, our practice didn't go as planned (we wanted to try doing things laid back) but it was still enjoyable thanks to Her Royal Hotness and her excrutiating dance routine which was quite entertaining and annoyingly present during the breaks we took...
tried to make a really good practice scheme but we couldn't feel it without the oh so important noise... ended up practicing 6-7 noisy songs all of them to be sang by Weh for the 1st time live... not really saying that Weh's ready but she has to try her best come gig time... at least last night's practice was well worth it... last night's session might not have helped Weh improve a bit but i think that the way we enjoyed each other's company would at least give each and everyone of us an idea as to how confident we are with one another...
for Candyaudioline, it has never been "Practice Makes Perfect", it's more of "Practice Makes Way For Good Times" this time via Zamboanga Chicken...

Weh!!! She's Doing Very Well...
quite an ill-organized practice session we had last night due to some miscalculations of sort on my part as to what time we'd all be available for practice... but unforseen events sort of rocked my "planned" sequence and as a result we had to make do with what we had last night...
it was supposed to be a 3 hour thing with the first part being more of a one on one type of practice just give me an idea as to how she's progressed since the last practice we had a week ago... the 2nd hour should've been a shatter-my-eardrum-make-my-nosebleed approach wherein we'd be playing the songs at rediculously disturbing volume levels just to give me an idea if she's become more comfortable singing underneath all the noise we could dish out... the 3rd part would've been the laid back part with us playing out instruments at illegally low levels in preparation for a possible Popshoppe stint next week...
because i was like 15 minutes late, Maggot was (as usual) 30 minutes late while Kel and Dennis could not leave their respective work-post, "Wehcay" had to wait for a while, good thing Rene-Pillow-Indiepop was with her... i decided to start the session at around 10:45pm without Kel and Dennis... it was just 2 vocals, 2 guitars (with Rene helping out)and a bass... it was a bit productive and after and hour and thirty minutes, i was able to assess that she did improve a lot and we were able to add a song or two to Weh's repertoire... after an hour and a half, Dennis and Kel arrived... we tried doing the laid back set but after 3o minutes we decided to go full blast... it wasn't what i intended but it wasn't a waste of time either... She's doing very well right now although still far from what i think she can truly be... Now she's able to sing these songs...
Light A Candle
Something Wrong
Wicked Glances
Painful
Discarded Toy
Cellophane Smiles
We've Been There
Better View
Pretend That We're Smart
An Empty You
Flaming Walls
Sad Inside
All Smiles
Felt So Fine
Can't Sleep
My Silver Chair
Nearby Town
Waste My Time
18 songs in all, although she still needs to familiarize herself more with the songs and how it's sung... still 18 songs is a lot already plus 4 practice sessions and 1 proper gig... Another practice is scheduled next Monday and hopefully we get to Play next Wendnesday (Popshoppe) and another one on the 20th at Mayrics...

This October's Buzz Night...
it was quite a successful Buzz Night we had last night... but for this post of mine, i won't be doing a review since it was very obvious at how each bands played exceptionally well... posting something about that won't be necessary...
i would just like to thank The Camerawalls for playing... bow ako sa iyo Clem, ace yang mga songs nyo... also, we'll miss Sonnet Lviii, i think last night was their best set (during Dale's recent short stint here in Manila) and also congrats Ecay!!! di mo kami dinisappoint... actually it was kind of a torture test for her since i made her sing songs which she had yet to master kahit na meron na syang ilang songs na sobrang comfortable na cya... she has guts... Elaine would be very proud... Elaine texted me right after maghiwahiwalay tayo galing Icebergs... she said "Good luck tom w/ ecay, she's a big Check for me"... Eto sample, ayaw pa nya kantahin ito...
Thanks din sa lahat ng nagpunta and also to Sir Carl for the help... thanks din Dale for convincing me to continue doing Buzz Nights and for recommending Ecay...
May mga napansin akong 1st during this October Buzz...
- First time we did this outside Mayrics...
- First gig ni Ecay...
- First time tumugtog ng buo yung current line-up ng Soft Pillow Kisses...
- For the first time, maayos ang porma ni Maggot kagabi although sabi ni Rene, mukha daw syang masahista...
Til the Next One...

Rains, Practices and Crying...
First of all, in behalf of all of us here at Candyaudioline, let me greet Elaine a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! she'll be celebrating it this coming Saturday, Sept. 27... sadly we can't be with her...
we've been having a lot of practices lately in preparation for next week's Buzz Night happening on the 2nd of October which is a Thursday at Club Dredd... the reason is we're trying to prepare our new singer for that one... i've decided not to let Elaine sing for us anymore after the Kublai's gig so that she'll have ample time to prepare for her Birthday/Despedida and other things related to her leaving the country... stupid of me not to explain this to my band mates... anyways, we're trying our best to move on...
admittedly, we sorely miss her... during the past 2 practices we had, it has been Maggot carrying the responsibility of constantly making us smile... i hope Elaine gets to see what we cooked up for her, it took a hell lot out of us all to convince Maggot to do what she did... hehehe... still we're enjoying every opportunity that candy is together...
Ecay our new singer, after couple of pratices, has sunk comfortably well with the rest of us... Soft Pillow Kisses Rene too has helped a lot during this trying times inspite of the rains... serving as the on who takes the instruments to practice and fetching Ecay (she's 18 years old by the way) from her place to the studio... and he even subs for Maggot at times when Maggot comes late to practice... he even excerts a whole lot of effort at giving Ecay at few tips at being "indie"...
rainy days bring out the indie-ness in most of us... the jackets, the jackets... i keep forgetting to bring my jacket... the rains have been so wicked lately... so wicked that i always feel drepressed everytime the rain falls...
well it's been fun really, except for one momment during last night's practice where in the middle of my one on one with Ecay, she suddenly started crying... i got the scare of my life that very momment in fear that i might have pushed her too much... but she assued me that she was just being frustrated with herself for not being the same singer that she was just 2 days ago, where in she was really doing well where she ran through 13 songs 2 of which i just taught her that same night... i guess she was just tried and really needed some rest...
i'm looking forward to another practice session next week hopefully she'll be in much better shape and improved a whole lot... and also the Buzz Night thing at Club Dredd that i prepared in honor of Dale, who's also leaving for the US on the 6th of October... Dale's the one who recommended Ecay to me... here Dale, take a look...
What do you think Dale?
i think that she'll do well come October 2 and with a few more practices and some more tears shed, then she'll be in top form...
we've been having a lot of practices lately in preparation for next week's Buzz Night happening on the 2nd of October which is a Thursday at Club Dredd... the reason is we're trying to prepare our new singer for that one... i've decided not to let Elaine sing for us anymore after the Kublai's gig so that she'll have ample time to prepare for her Birthday/Despedida and other things related to her leaving the country... stupid of me not to explain this to my band mates... anyways, we're trying our best to move on...
admittedly, we sorely miss her... during the past 2 practices we had, it has been Maggot carrying the responsibility of constantly making us smile... i hope Elaine gets to see what we cooked up for her, it took a hell lot out of us all to convince Maggot to do what she did... hehehe... still we're enjoying every opportunity that candy is together...

Last Practice With Elaine...
this one's a bit over due... Just can't find time to post... i've been very Busy during the past few days and i just realised there's so much to post...
anyways, here's a video from our last practice session with Elaine... We will surely miss her kakulitan...
Hope i can post some more Elaine related items... By the way, She'll be celebrating her 26th Birthday this Saturday, Sept. 27, i feel really bad that we can't be there since me, Dennis and Kel will be Singapore bound on that date...

Last Few Weeks...
It was sort of a happy yet sad practice we had a while ago... Elaine has confirmed that it's all systems go for her US trip come October... At least she'll still be celebrating her birthday here in the Philippines next week but Me, Dennis and Kel won't be here on her Birthday coz we'll be going out of the country for about 3-4 days, work related... nevertheless, we still find a way to enjoy the somewhat short practice we had with some picture taking sessions... Here are some of them...
anyways, the practice was in preparation for the gigs we'll be playing this thursday and friday... the last few ones probably for Elaine...

The Final Stretch... Aborted Practice...
we're in the middle of September and to us here at Candy Camp, it means that we will be entering another phase of a very consistent cycle... the cycle of change...
by the middle October, Elaine might not be with us anymore since she'll be working in the US for about 3 years or so... i don't know but i think we should've been making use of the time she's here but for the paft 2 month's or so we seldom have a chance to be together... it was only during last Buzz Night that we had a chance to be a complete Candyaudioline unit playing live, the first time at that... Although we did had a couple of practice sessions but we haven't really had a bonding session... i can't even post a picture with all present members with it...
a while ago, our practice session had to be cancelled since both Maggot and Elaine were down with illnesses... i'm afraid we'll be playing lousily again this Thursday at 6UG... hope we could get a chance to practice within the week before Thursday... and i hope we could still get a few more gigs before Elaine finally bids us farewell...
as for the one filling in for Elaine, i already have 2 propects although i doubt one of them since she's not really a Pilipino Citizen and she usually goes back to her country of origin every now and then... the other one seems a bit promising... thanks Dale...

When It Rains, It's Buzz Night!!!
First of all, i'd like to thank Sonnet LVIII and Your Imaginary Friends for braving the rains... Both bands do come from places which are notorious for floods (Valenzuela and Mandaluyong respectively)... Even Random Knobs made it late in the evening and i too was caught in some flooded areas before i reached the surprisingly flood-free España... I was expecting a really good turn-out based on the line-up and on some people who messaged me telling me that they miss Buzz Night and that they'll be going there inspite it being a Monday (Maybe because of Sonnet LVIII)... but as i expected, the rains ruined the party... I did wanted to cancel it but i also wanted to play and so did the bands i mentioned a while back... so we had to push thru...
I was there at around 9pm since i was suppose to meet someone but thanks to the rains all the cabs didn't want to risk going to UST area... so i rode a jeepney... i was a bit embarrassed because i had to ask the driver the amount it wound take me to get to UST from Blumentrit...
On to Buzz Night, Your Imaginary Friend started the whole thing at around 11pm... can't say much about them but i was quite impressed at the first 2 songs they did although i was unaware whether they were originals or not since i was too busy fixing the mic of their bassist who happens to have a nice voice... It's their 1st gig by the way so those little "sabits" can be ignored and with a little more practice and if they continue in the same vein of the 1st two songs they played, i think they have a pretty chance getting the ears of the indie, the sort of indie and the non indie types a like... Catchy tunes, slight-too-good-a-singer fromtman and a cute back-up girl voice...
Candyaudiline played next... the practice sessions did us really well... i even let Eline sing some songs alone... Maggot too was in top form too and was really well dressed for the occassion and inspite of playing in an obnoxiously lessened volume level, i think we did enjoyed our set... Also this marks the 1st time we played with all proper members intact... Sadly there's only a few more gigs that this line-up will be playing before Elaine leaves us for good... nothing much can be done but to enjoy it while it last...
3rd up was Sopnnet LVIII... I wasn't able to watch their whole set because i was too busy bullying Elaine to help me out singing some back-up for Soft Pillow Kisses since Pillow's singer can't make it to Mayrics because she was in some flooded area somewhere in Makati... i did catch a glimpse of those really classic Sonnet LVIII tunes (Treasure Heaven, Pristine and Hurricane Aurora) done decently well inspite of the fact that they were missing a member who also couldn't make it at the last minute because of the rains...
Soft Pillow Kisses followed and played a quite good set with some large helpings of craziness from Elaine who unwillingly helped me rip through the last 4 of the six songs we played... It was actually the first gig of this new Pillow line-up but the rains, the rains... If only Soft Pillow Kissing singer could've made it...
Randon Knobs played last... by this time i was so exhausted that i just stayed outside... i did hear some of their numbers and they did sounded quite mean and well...
That's that for now... Thanks to Carl of Lazy Lorelei for helping me out... Carl is now Sir Carl, hehehe...
hope the next Buzz Night will be Blessed...

An Exhausting Yet Quite Enjoyable Ordeal...
lesson learned, don't ever let Candyaudioline and Soft Pillow Kisses share the same practice sched and area... specially when you're trying to get serious results out of it...
i thought it was going to be quite managable but last Wednesday's practice session was a bit confusing and really tiring... the practice was pegged at around 10pm and since it was candy who was almost complete save for Elaine who was very busy downloading stuff from the net, candy went first... i forgot that Maggot was the one playing bass so instead of just going thru the songs, we had to help her remember some songs and teach her a new one... Elaine came in with just 2 songs on my imaginary Candy 1st Set list before Pillow was to use the next few minutes or so... when Pillow started, Apple was still nowhere in sight so i tried to make use of the time to juice Ralph of any more songs he could've studied but according to him, he was to busy to study some more songs... so we just reviewed all the songs he knew... Apple arrived 5 songs down and just like Elaine, she only got to practice 2 songs during the first Pillow Practice set... we all went outside to take a breather and as usual, Candy was leading the way in the alaskahan dept... with Maggot being the honorary victim and seeing how Elaine was a bit amazed at how Maggot was dancing and at the same time taking everything being hurled at her by Dennis and co. as for the Pillow side of the fence, well, they were being quite well behaved, even Rene was quiet...
after the very long break, Candy went back practicing but by this time, i was feeling quite exhausted mainly due to laughing at Maggot and Elaine's crazy antics... just went thru a few songs and called in my Pillow mates for the resumption of the 2nd Pillow half... have to commend Ralph again for doing such a great job of trying to learn another song in a span of 30 minutes... after about 4 song, i begged time out coz by this time my back was really killing me... i came back for 3 more songs and decided to end the pillow session... i was so tired that i didn't push with the third Candy part...
anyways... it was quite fun and i'm very glad that both bands don't have to share the same members everytime... i also noticed that both bands carry with it the right members... the rawdy one's belong to Candy while the well behaved bunch sits comfortably with Pillow...
Sadly for Candy, we're just a month away from losing a singer...

It's Just So Hard To Understand...
this has nothing to do with my bands... it's just a personal rant of sorts...
why do some people get what they don't deserve?
actually i know a lot of people who i think, based on how i know them, seems to get on life easily... i just don't get it... i pity the poor souls who work their butts out for these loathesome assholes so that they'd look good and live well... often times i really feel cheated everytime i get to witness such a situation, even i at times get to be in such a predicament... but what can we do? eventhough we want to correct things, it seems that such a situation will always favor those bastards, no matter what...
your capability to correct things will always be hampered by your capacity to understand but in most cases it's more of surrendering to the fact that, it's the way it is supposed to be for the mean time... but what if that mean time turns out to be such an uncomfortably long period...
sure there's always a way out but what if, for the time being, you're stuck with it and chosing the way out would mean a new form of discomfort to you... each individual in his right mind would always try a hundred percent to do good and make the right moves and choices and that's why we always end up regretful... i guess it all boils down to simply being human...
being human is really a wonderful thing, i sure can live dealing with my own flaws but i just find it so hard to understand why i have deal and be victimized by other's flaws...

Candyaudioline @ Mayrics... The Guitar Amps!!!
we played at Mayrics last night... and for the first time Maggot and Elaine were both present... it thought this won't happen but it did...
just when you are about to play a well anticipated gig, the equiptments goes on fucking all about... really had a hard time last night... actually, that's 2 times in a row... Just last week at buzz night, the amps seemed so uncooperative... worse, my B string smapped... i had a really time keeping my guitar in-tune... Even Ralph's amp didn't go loud as it should... well those were the breaks for us... Maggot did quite well again but Elaine was a bit shaley at the start...
anyways, we didn't do really well but we did enjoy playing last night... again, Ralph played guitars instead of Dennis... by the way, Ralph has accepted my invitation to play guitars for Pillow... so as of this very moment, ralph is officially a member of Soft Pillow Kisses...
cna't wait for the next gig for Candy and the next practice session for Pillow...

Starting Over Again
Just would like to thank Selena and Ralph for playing with Candyaudioline last night... Kinda brings back some really good memories... Plus the fact that i didn't have to sing that much since Selena's used to singing alone most of the time... also, inspite of my guitar's consistently cocking out everytime i turn on the noise, Ralph's very full sound was there to save my red face... Maggot, inspite wearing those really funny looking pair of shoes only managed to do major "sabit"... the only thing i regret about Maggot last night was when she chickened out from her promise of dancing ala loka during Pillow's performance of "Just Like The Sky"... i did caught some on cam... hehehe, blackmail materials... Enjoy talaga no matter what... Just wish that Elaine was there coz Maggot really wants to play with her around... atleast before she leaves us all permanently...
Thanks also to Some Gorgeous Accident and Lazy Lorelei for showing up and playing for us some really cool tunes... Sunday Picnic, and Ramdom Knobs weren't able to make it...
Maybe next month, we'll stage a far more better Buzz Night and i'm counting on Rene and Carl to help me out on this... It'll be like starting over again...

A Slightly Old And Different Candyaudioline Tonight...
I lew of Elaine's not being sure if she'll be making it for tonight's Buzz Night, i've decided to get a temporary singer for this night's Buzz... It was supposed to be Lara but she told me last Saturday that she won't be able to make it... i decided to get Selena and with that i had to get Ralph too... Both are Ex-Candymembers... thank you Dennis for being very understanding...
I was hesitant at first but after last night practice (Ayn, another former Candy member was in the other studio across the street... is this a sign or what?) , i quess it'll be worth it... practice last night really went we'll... the first few songs we played was executed quite lousily with Selena singing awkwardly and Ralph playing the wrong chords with volumes nowhere near comfortable levels... but by the second half of the practice, everyone was back to Candyaudioland, Selena was singing like a well-behaved angel and ralph was playing his guitars like he was trying to drown the Domestic Airport with loads of guitar distortion and shreds of feedback... Even Maggot and Kel was into the groove...
Just a few hour's before Buzz Night... By the way, this will be Maggot's First gig after a year's absence...

Candyudioline Played At 6UG...
i thought it was going to be one frustrating evening... i had work related stress... my "doe" was running short... my phone line was cut, payment dead lines were all around the corner, worse of all, my ipod was stolen from my bag... it was a good thing that Apple (Soft Pillow Kisses) and Kel was with me on my way to 6UG for a Candyaudioline stint or else, i would've turn into something Green and Mean...
i was too preoccupied at thinking as to how the hell did my ipod got stolen from me that i didn't even bother to greet Lazy Carl and Tubby Joe who called my attention near the stairs of the venue... sorry guys... nothing soothes an angry head better than the sight of a hungry-smiling-Elaine anytime... i tried going over my bag but it only made me realise that my ipod was gone for good... the breaks, the breaks indeed...
on to the gig, we were suppose to go last but Weedisneys' drummer was nowhere in sight... LQ-related lateness according to him... as usual, i think we played really well but i didn't like the sound on stage... low register feedback was omnipresent an it was quite annoying since i could hear it all the time, even in the middle of a song... still i had to enjoy it since i can see that my band mates were really into it... an for the first time in many attempts, i got Elaine to intro the last song...
We waited for Disneys to finish and by this time, we were all hungry... we wasted no time in going to Mister Kabad... We took 2 cabs since there was 7 of us and divided ourselves into 2 groups, the Candy factions (Kel, Dennis and Elaine) and the Pillow Faction since Me, Apple and Rene were all wearing the same coloured tops... and we had old-Pillow Member tag along with us... the taxi ride was fun with Rene being his own nonsense-self, old-Pillow member's boy-toy past escapades was being exposed by me to New Pillow member Apple and Rene...
Mister Kabab was a place to be last night... 2 pairs of luscious legs from two gorgeous ladies from two different tables was having Dennis pre-occupied... Me and Elaine made occassional sulyaps to a cute girl in shorts about 11 o'clock of me... we shared the same thoughts... the girl was extremely cute in an innocent way... we stayed there for an hour and went our separate ways... it was really fun... the gig and the tambay, if only Maggot was there then that would be one for the books...
Wish that Elaine wouldn't live the country... she's one heck of a hungry-kind...

Maggot Ain't Ready Yet...
It was another fun-filled Pillow/Candy practice we had last night... as usual, Elaine was her crazy self again, Kel, Dennis and Rene was on Magic cards and PSP mode while me on the other hand got a bit confused as to how the practice session was suppose to go... Pillow had a special guest last night... hopefully we could play a gig with him before he disappears again..
Maggot was there and she came in really late... that's Maggot for you... Everyone was really happy to see her again... there was something new with her that really got everyone's attetion... hehehehe, she was with lipstick... Dennis and company wasted no time in making fun of her... but Maggot sure knows how to handle the boys... and with "Ate" Elaine backing her up, we just couldn't do anything but throw in everything we could possibly put our thoughts to... hehehe, that's the best thing about us, we thrive on bringing each other down to hell... in a fun way that is...
So, it was time for Maggot to take up the bass... and to our "expected surprise", she had a hard time remembering the songs... well, it's been a year now since she played Candy songs so no offense taken and she's always a welcome treat to us all... i did make her play a few songs but had to cut short her stint since i felt that we'd be wasting time if i will be focusing on her... maggot ain't ready yet...
The real agenda for the practice is to prepare us (Candyaudioline) for this Thursday's gig and also to help Elaine rehearse a few more songs she needs to do in the studio... But we're happy that Maggot is back which means that Rene might have to play Keyboards when maggot's Available or will just be our official cameraman...
for me, it's nice to know that she's here and with us once more... i just hope that before Elaine does her exit, we'd be able to play a handful of gig as a six-piece unit once more...

As Promised: Elaine's 1st Take...
hello everyone... Candyaudioline, Soft Pillow Kisses and Superminty have been goin in and out of the studio to record some songs... Very few footages were recorded... most of which has nothing to do with any of the songs whatsoever... Most of the footages were mostly Candy-related and here's one...
That'll do for now...

Going To Miss This...
Candy and Pillow practice yesterday was really fun... As usual, Elaine was her in her normal crazy self while Apple on the other hand was still trying to feel her way towards inside our crazy little world... but she's getting there...
Candy part of the practice was divided into three segments... my one on one with Elaine, the yosi breaks and the full band part...
since it's been many weeks now since we've pratcice with Elaine, i felt quite uncomfortable doing one on one with her again but i was so surprised at how she could easily catch up with me unlike the early days wherein i'd notice that she'd really have a tough time singing softly... last night she did it confidently and playfully... just can't figure out where she gets the energy...
the yosi breaks, as usual was really helpful in getting us relaxed after minutes of jarring noise... during this time, Kel, Rene and Dennis usually try to get to each other's nerves but last night they made use of the break to get some snacks and play some sort of a card game that i am not familiar with... While me, and Apple did some work related catching up and Elaine successfully resisted the temptation of eating...
During the full band part, i can't help but feel happy and sad at the same time... Elaine was doing very well... she was singing in a very controlled manner... no more "nasal-like" vocal delivery... her voice sounded really dreamy and lazy at the same time... my kind of singing really... inspite of the really loud volume which we were at, i could still hear soft singing reminiscent of Selena during her prime but a lot better... hope she could do this same approach once we resume recording hopefully on Thursday...
after practice, we ate at our fave carinderia somewhere in timog... at first i was a bit hesitant at bringing Apple and Elaine there since it was really a turo-turo type kainan... i am glad that the two girls enjoyed eating there specially Elaine who wasted no time in consuming her supposedly "for take home" puto accompanied by me and Kel's favourite dinuguan...
next time, i'm posting some phone captured video of Elaine goofing around during last Saturday's (July 26) recording sessions at Pink Noise...
Hmmm, August is almost here... soon it'll be September... I'm sure that we're going to miss this girl...

Cancelled Gig...
we were supposed to play somewhere in Ortigas tomorrow but it had to be cancelled... it's the third cancelled gig we had this month... very frustrating really cause we haven't been gigging a lot during the past two months since Elaine has been very busy...
we still have been doing some candy related stuff although i've just realised that i haven't called a practice session for nearly a month now and tomorrow will be entering the studio again to record a few more songs and fool around a bit inside the studio... we plan to record the following songs: "Flaming Walls", "An Empty You", "Nearby Town", "Cellophane Smiles" and two covers songs...
some updates... Maggot is definitely here in Manila... i was able to meet up with her a week a go and drag her along during a Superminty session at Pink Noise... I doubt it if she would be able to joins us for gigs as of now since she is still busy landing herself a job as nurse here in Manila... we're still waiting for her to land one and settle down a bit... Elaine on the otherhand might bne leaving us a bit earlier than expected...
that's that for the mean time...

1st One For Superminty And Some Candyaudioline Bits...
We had quite a great time at Route 196 last night although at the last minute, we were a bit hessitant on playing since we weren't sure if we could pull it off or not since it was to be our first gig after almost 3 years of absence...
during the first two songs we sort of fumbled a bit thanks to Kel's confusing as hell intro of the first song (When We Smile) and my way out of tune guitar that started from the beginning of the first song and worsened by the 2nd song (Sink Into Something)... we did cleaned up by the third song (Silly Thing)and made quite good by the forth song, the new one (All About Us) except for some of Charles minor incursions into "SABIT-land"... even i did forget some of the lyrics to this song... here's a video of that performance...
we were supposed to play 5 songs but we can only play 4 songs as of now so we decided to play as Soft Pillow Kisses for the final number since Apple (new Soft Pillow Kisses vocalist) was also there... You may check a video of this at http://softpillowkisses.blogspot.com/... after the gig we went to Timog to satisfy our hunger and help us forget the lovely pair of legs that haunted us during our stay at Route 196...
Candybits...
- Elaine is still busy with work and other committments that's why she hasn't been with us for more that 3 weeks already.... We miss her a lot...
- Me, Kel and Rene together with Charles have been very busy reviving Superminty... -- Dennis will be replacing Charles for both bands making me, Kel, Dennis and Rene members of Candyaudioline, Soft pillow Kisses and Superminty all at the same time...
- The 3 mentioned bands have been in and out of the studio recording some songs to beef up possible releases...
- Me and Rene has recently discovered the wonders of hanging out at Cafe's...
- Maggot is still nowhere to be found...
- we will be playing next week, July 21, Monday at Mayrics...

Superminty Practice And New Song...
i have no other place to post this yet since i've no Superminty blogger, multiply or myspace accounts... so i'm going to use both Soft Pillow Kisses' and Candyaudioline's blogs to post anything related to Superminty...
We had a really long practice session last night since i wanted to demo a new song, this one was supposed to go to Soft Pillow Kisses but i decided to let Superminty have this one instead...
at first i thought i was going to have a hard time with this one since Charles have been having problems adding guitar lines to my songs... i don't know if he's just being selfish giving his all only on Populardays (his band)and giving me only 30% of his guitar palying ability... Charles is one great guitar player you know... try listening to some Populardays stuff... we were able to pull it off after about 6 tries... i would also like to commend both Kel and Rene for a job well done and for having to put up with all the crazy patterns that i had in my head which really gave them a hart time to execute this one... yet, this is still not the proper form in which i would like this song to be... it'll have to do for now...
so here's the song... no titles as of yet...
no need to know she said
it's all inside our heads
we'll take you far away from here
tucked inside your bed
just like an evening glow
a silly morning show
with people acting like it's well
but do they really know
well... hey!!!
it's all about you...
it's all about me...
it all about us!!!
a sunny smile that's dead
no tears of joy to shed
we'll wait a while until it's gone
i think enough is said
we should slow down take our time
ambitions of another gain might stain and waste our lives...
... we know the cause... it's all because...

Almost Ready For The Next...
Had another Pillow, Minty, Candy practice session last night...
Kicked off with Superminty since Dennis and Apple haven't arrived yet... Felt a bit disappointed at first since i wasn't able to bring the lyrics of the new song (which i initially planned to give to Soft Pillow Kisses) but still i was able to have an idea as to how good the song could turn out to be... Ripped through 4 other Minty songs... still needs time though... still can't get the right feel although "When We Smile" and "Sink Into Something" are beginning to sound good again thanks to Kel's "steady" beats and Charles' improved guitar sound...
Dennis arrived in the middle of the Minty session followed by Apple a few minutes later... Decided to go for a Pillow session since Charles still had his guitar plugged in... Apple was a bit off during the first few songs dew maybe to the volume that we were at which was ridiculously loud and from too much alcohol that Dennis used to clean up Apple's mic... she kept telling me that she had a hard time singing close to the mic since the smell of alcohol was too strong... After about 6 songs, we decided to take a break and went outside the studio for the usual, yosi/snack time part of the practice session... during the break, Charles and Dennis played PSP while me, Rene, Kel and Apple exchanged opinions and thoughts about the songs, the music scene and Dennis' lips in particular... we even bullied Charles to tell us his "Legendary" bout with a "Locked Jaw" (Pictures will be available at Pillow's Blog as soon as Charles allows me to post them)... went back to practice mode were we did another batch... by this time Apple was a bit comfortable... still she was nowhere near her peak (she did very well during last weeks practice, well enough to impress me)... Called another break and decided to shift to Candy-gear... i told Apple to listen to two more songs, "Louder" and "Vodka" and that i'll have her sing them after the Candy session...
During the Candy part... i was only focusing on two songs "Nearby Town" and "Cellophane Smiles" but since we were planning on re-recording "An Empty You" and "We've Been There", i decided to include both songs in the line-up... We made to runs at "Nearby Town" and told Kel how i want the drums to sound Simple but really Mean... he did what i had told him to and it was really good... "Nearby Town" sounded so good, enough to make us all turn the volume insanely higher... "Cellophane Smile" sounded like a winner, just when i was about to lose my confidence in this song... It just had to be done tight, loud and dirty... "We've Been There" and "An Empty You" rounded out the Candy part of the session... it was so tight that we were so surpried at how tight we executed it... These four Candy songs are well on it's way to being recorded at the next possible recording session...
I called back Apple again to do the last two songs that i asked her to review... i was quite surprised at how easily she learned both song... we ended the whole thing with 2 more songs one Pillow Song "Stolen Flowers" of which i had Dennis play guitars knowing that he was to play Candy's "Better View" since Charles couldn't play it and the last song for the night was a Superminty song "When We Smile"...
Went to Mr. Kabab, where Charles and Dennis continued playing NBA Live in their PSP's, while the rest of us ate... ate... spot... cracked jokes etc... etc...

Recording Season...
Hello everyone...
haven't been gigging lately and this blog has been quiet for quite some time now... well, there's reason to be quiet really because since there's not much action and nothing really quite interesting to post about... well actually, there's quite a number of really interesting things happening with us lately but some of them are a bit out-of-line if i where to post them... so i'll just consider these events or gimmicks of ours as strictly a private affair... some of you i guess have an idea as to what i'm refering... well there's nothing wrong with being naughty every now and then as long as no harm is done to others... it's quite a rejuvinating exercise really...
here's something worth sharing though... we, save for Elaine who's been very busy with her growing number of patients and also making loads of money through her other sidelines, have gone into the studio to record some interesting but not so new stuff... as the title suggest, we along with Soft Pillow Kisses and hopefully Superminty are into recording once more...
Candyaudioline minus Elaine has done laying in 2 songs "Together" and "You're Not There"", out of a targeted 6 songs... at first it was really disappointing but thanks to digital technology, we are on course again... just can't wait for the next session...
Although it's scary for us to record really since there has been some sort of a recording related curse... Everytime a band of mine finishes recording, that band tends to go into a dilemna of sorts resulting in a laying off a member... maybe this time we'll try to face the curse head on... and try to release the stuff we did together with older recording that we see fit releasing... Curse or no Curse...

After All The Excitement...
Weird... after all the wait and anticipation, a quiet lull suddenly envelopes this blog... and for more than 5 days now, we still have no clue as to where Maggot is?
She won't even answer our post or tags... nadito ka na ba sa Pinas? Paramdam ka naman...

Candyaudioline - Together
Hello everyone...
had practice last night and Elaine couldn't make it so i decided to bring an old song back to life...
This is the 3rd of the 1st 3 songs i made during Candyaudioline's inception way back June of 1997 (the first one was "We've Been There" while the secong one is "Nearby Town"... Sort of lost this song to my other band Superminty and for some time Soft Pillow Kisses although both band's never really got to play this one during a gig since both band's, in my opinion, never got it right... now i'm bringing it back to Candyaudioline for good... Pardon the way-out-of-tune guitar since i had to use one from the studio coz Dennis didn't bring his own guitar...
Candyaudioline - Together
tired, i'm so tired...
can't speak, i'm so tired...
need to speak tonight...
can't remember, so many summers
the times we spent together, the times we spent together...
need to speak tonight...
tired, you're so tired...
can't sleep, you're so tired...
need to sleep tonight...
can't remember, so many summers
the times we spent together, the times we spent together...
need to sleep tonight...
Lonely, so sad...
i could not imagine, so bad...
we don't need to go back...
Can't remeber, it would not register...
the times we held each other. the times we held each other...
Can't remember, it would not register...
the times we kissed each other, the times we kisses each other...
we don't need to go back...
we don't need to go back...

Timog Night Out... Flush Flood... Fush Out...
yesterday (saturday) was kind of a weird day for me...
it was suppose to start yesterday morning upon our arrival from Legaspi since i had plans to shop around a bit but we had to cut short our stay in Legaspi last friday and return by land late in the afternoon of fear of typhoon Frank's wrath... we left Legaspi at around 6pm and arrived in Manila around 5am... it was quite an experience really since me, dennis and kel with pancho didn't get to ride such a comfortable van until we reached Lucena... imagine, amlost 6 hours in a converted L200 with no airconditioning and really annoying passenger jeep-like seats... thank God the drivers for both vans were quite skilled drivers so we didn't have to worry dying through the trip consisting of heavy rains, gusty winds, rough muddy roads and some helpings of diced hopia, tortillos, boiled eggs and c2... having a fully charged PSP also helped a bit...
on to yesterday (saturday)... woke up at around 4 in the afternoon watched a couple of dvd's when i remembered that i had an errand to run so i left the house at around 9pm... on my way to teacher's i received a text message from Shoko (Filipino/Japanese friend of mine who i once invited to sing for Soft Pillow Kisses)
asking me if i was nearby since she was somewhere in ABS CBN area...
Here's a picture of me and Shoko taken last Thursday... She went to the studio in Teacher's Village all the way from UST just to show me her brand new hairdo...
i told her that i was on my way to Teacher's Village and that i could hang around with her if she wanted to... but she was uncertain if she could find time to meet up with me... yet after my errand, i decided to go to timog and stayed at starbucks near burgoo... since it was near where Shoko was just incase she decides to meet up with me... after 30 minutes of waiting She texted me and said that she could not leave her friends and asked me if i could join her there but i thought that i'd be a bit unconfortable since i don't know any of her aquiantances and besides, i was a bit enjoying playing PSP while spotting girls at starbucks... i told her that i had company and i'll just wait for her text if ever she decides to still meet up with me... i tell you, it was really girl's galore night... from sosys to the yuckies... there was even this batch of Koreans who invited me to join their Kill Zone sessions...
i think they noticed me playing alone and quite emotional at that... it was a good thing that my batteries ran out or else... was able to chat with 2 of the girls whom i was quite surprised since they were so fluent conversing in english... good thing i had baon... and do you like to know what we talked about? Movies... i think they were quite surprised at how knowledgable i was with Korean stuff... then they asked me if i had an idea as to what those group of really noisy girls just across the street where into? i haven't noticed it until they pointed it out... Pokpoks Galore!!! and really pretty ones... got another call from Shoko telling me that they'll move to Katipunan and at the same time the Koreans were also saying their good byes... i was so busy talking to Shoko that i forgot to get the 2 girl's number... stupid me... i decided to go home at around 11:30pm...
at home, i got quite annoyed at how the strong winds were hitting the lose end of the school roof just in from of the gate of our place... it was so noisy that my sleepiness left me... so i went online while watching Constantine... at around 3am the light's went out and worse, i forgot to charge my PSP... i went out of the house to get a feel of the storm... it was really scary... it was dark and the wind was really blowing hard and the rains were starting to pour... after about 15 minutes, there was electricity again but the storm was growing stronger which made me feel worried since it'll sure cause floodings if the rains would continue pouring at that rate... went back to the house and conitinued surfing the net... went to sleep at around 7am... at 10am, manang woke me up telling me that water was seeping into the house... when i got down stairs, there was already 2 inches of water inside the house... manang was already able to save some of my stuff from getting wet but it still wasn't enought since the rains were still pouring hard... so we spent the next couple of hours moving things around... it was fun though, i got to see some stuff that i rarely see anymore... brings back fond memories... but i had to be careful since i had an open wound just above my left ankle... i really hate it when water gets inside the house... last time this happened was like 5 years ago...
just can't help but feel sorry for others who had to go thru far worse experience with floods, and typhoons... you can't consider it flash flood since it was inevitable...

rainy outside rainy inside.
WOW. the weather is really bad. it's been raining non-stop since yesterday. i was with Lara the other night- having a serious conversation over tea and white choco mocha. we hardly noticed the pouring rain. we got home at about 4am... both tired and sleepy (i was even sick that time)... BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP US FROM CREATING OUR BRAND NEW AWESOME MOVES!!! It started with the "uy-anjan-ka-pala" apir greeting... then we just couldn't help ourselves and our creative minds! we now have 7 new combos awaiting our eager audience and fans! WAHAHAHA wait 'til you guys see the SUPERNOVA!!! MWAHAHAHAHA *BOOM*
as for candy, we had 2 consecutive practices last week. i don't think we'll be practicing tonight 'cause of the bad weather. the new old song was ok, just that allan wanted better lyrics for the song... as much as i would like to collaborate and give my ideas... i think my lyrics would just sound like it belonged to a fastfood jingle!!! HAY. my goodness. i sometimes amaze myself with the capacity of what i eat nowadays!! and it's all THEIR (allan, rene, dennis, and kel) fault!! nang magsimula ako sa candy, nagsimula na rin ang katakawan ko!!! nagsimula na rin ang panlolobo hmph!!! But thanks to them, i've discovered the wonderful world of eating and spotting while eating! hahaha I now have a new talent or skill to put in my resume! hehehe
i miss deanna... she has work already so we hardly get to hang out with her. hope she's doing ok.
i heard rene's going to work also. hay. sagabal talaga yang trabaho. haha but it's inevitable. so i wish him well in the medical field. anyway, gotheng/maggot (do you have another name that i can call you? hehe hindi ako sanay pa. hmm.. you're too pretty for you nicks e.) will be arriving this 25th of june. they say that she'll play bass again for candy in rene's absence. can't wait to finally meet her... hope we could spot together! hahaha *supernova apir* i wonder if she'll do THE MOVES with me?! hahaha
insert note: uuuuuuuuuuy!!! ang pogi ni dennis sa eat bulaga!! wehehehe

Candyaudioline - You're Not There
You're Not There...
Everytime i see you there, it is as if you are not there...
Everytime i see you there, it is as if you are not there...
Everytime i see your face, gets me to look in different ways...
Everytime i see your face, gets me to look in different ways...
Up... Down... Get's me feeling Up and Down
Up... Down... Guilty feelings round and round
Everytime i see you there, it is as if you are not there...
Everytime i see you there, it is as if you are not there...
So many times i've seen your face, gets me looking ways,
And everytime i see you there, it always seem you are not...
there... everywhere... you're not there... you're not there
there... everywhere... i don't care... if you're not there...
New (Old) Song
Practiced last night... It's an old song actually from an old band of mine... the guitar riff is courtesy of present Moscow Olympics member Jojo Sarmiento who was then Aspirin's 5th member... the song's called "You're Not There"...
Got regrets though with this one cause i can't find a reference tape of the song... i only got a very rough demo an it's barely a representation of how Aspirin did it... tried playing it from memory but still can't come that close to how it was done way back then...
still i'm quite content with how Candyaudioline did it...
Happy is the band... Just take a look...

Just Some Thoughts...
Hello evryone...
Noticed that's it's been very hot during the past few weeks... its supposed to be the rainy season right?
Just happen to pass by a certain "Squatter's Area" somewhere along Visayas Avenue a few days ago and i can't help but think, although i'm not generalizing, are people who happen to live in these sort of places that barbaric? Felt really sorry for the girl walking just a few meters ahead of me... won't go into details... although i really wanted to help but i wasn't sure that if i did, i would be able to come out of it unharmed or worse, alive...
heard of the "Road Clearing Projects" of the MMDA? well, there's one going on here in our area since 4 days ago... I don't agree with what their doing... i think it's not right and it's way too much "below the belt"... most of what they're doing ain't that necessary...
Kel shared to us an experience of his on his way to practice when a girl seated right besides her got her cellphone snatched inside an FX taxi... i'm pretty sure a lot of these types of crime happen in great frequency even at this very moment... is there anything that could be done about this? is it really not safe to go around town via public transport anymore? even in broad daylight and in the presence of many they strike... scary ain't it?
i was looking at really old local magazines (60's and 70's stuff)... i noticed that the disparity among the "Good Looking" and the "Not Good Looking" during those days can be represented by an angle measuring not more that 40 degrees... Nowadays. it's like a standing straight line one pointing to heaven the other side pointing to hell or 180 degree angle vertically positioned... is this evolution?
now i'm sleepy....

Monthly dues
As I've suspected... Even if I walk like a man, talk like a man, spot like a man... I'm still a woman at heart! I still endure monthly stomach cramps. :( hay. that's why I missed the most-awaited part of the practice... the eating session. huhuhuhu *d*mn you cramps!!!! d*mn you to earth!!!*
I enjoyed the practice last night, despite the GROUNDING EVENTS. argh! I'm sort of getting used to the loud music.

A Good Session...
Hello everyone,
Can't help looking back at last night's practice session... haven't had practice like that in a long while... it so enjoyable... the mics were functioning properly save for the grounds running through it's mouthpiece, the amps sounded like they've just been treated or rewinded... and even my usual misfit band-mates where all focused and were executing the songs they way they were meant to be done... how i wish were always like this... at least sulit yung bayad di ba... not much time wasted... sa sobrang aliw ng practice, i wasn't able to push through with my agenda of practicing songs which we plan to record soon and to introduce some Aspirin (my old band) songs which i plan to move over to Candyaudioline...
We went to one of our fave Karinderya "Sittiper" located near Xaymaca just in front of one of - '"my place of soltitude" - Grandeur Health Club, for some nourishments and indulged ourselves with a healthy dose Giniling Baboy and Dinuguan accompanied by a life-threatening cup of Bulalo Soup with a large-sure-to-kill chunks of "taba"... Sad, Elaine had to go home since she was experiencing her monthly thing... Babae ka pa rin Elaine...
Can't wait for the next practice session... may next time around it'll be Maggot's turn to play bass for us... But it will be Rene who's doing the bass playing during the recordings since it's just proper since he was the one who pulled-off most of the bass parts...

Candyaudioline - Secret (OMD Song) @ Will's Attic
Hello everyone...
We had a really great time at Will's Attic last night... We came in very early but the gig had to start a bit late since people and also some of the bands came in late...
During the wait, most of my bandmates were busy chatting, playing PSP and girl-spotting even Elaine too... there sure were lots of spottables last light... specially this girl in white which was really very disctractingly georgeous... me and Dennis just can't help but secretly and oftertimes obviously look at her (Chest and Legs and all)... haven't been in a gig where there are lots of lovely ladied within a Decameter of Spherical Radius... i mean, front, behind, up, down and even outside...
I guess we played a really great set with Elaine's mic being the only problem wherein the wire was short and it was slightly lower volume-wise compared to mine... or maybe she was just too near to most of the instruments compared to where i stood causing her voice to be drowned in all the instruments...
I really liked "We've Been There" that time around. it was almost perfect if i didn't screw up the last part... And also "Felt So Fine" and "Wicked Glances"... The OMD cover was also really swell too...
We had to leave early but first we had to finish Discoball at Ayn's (Ex-Candyaudioline) request... a band mostly made up of former Kiko Machine members, they show a lot of promise and character, very tight except for the Nirvana Cover... I sure miss Ayn's presence... Mia and Joey were also there too... Sorry wasn't able to stay with you guys that long...
We then went to Gerardo's to see Lara but upon arriving at Grerardo's i suddenly realised that i hadn't payed for the food and drinks that we ordered at Will's so i had to rush back to settle my bill... back at Gerardo's... it was so full of people therefore the spotting continues...
we decided to go soon after since Elaine was feeling a bit tipsy after 2 bottles of Vodka Ice but being chibugistas at heart we just can't end our day without eating at our favourite food joint... and this months fave hang-out is Icebergs...
it was a struggle really for Elaine going to Icebergs... 1st she was feeling dizzy from the drinks she had... 2nd she already had Burger King in mind... 3rd is she was planning on fasting for 3 weeks now... But nothing is more powerful than the thought of skipping tthrough another Hungarian Sausage 3 times in a row...
i can say that Icebergs was really worth it... aside from the great food and ice cream there were lots of spottables again... specially this girl about 11o'clock from me... she kept doing a Sharon Stone Basic Instinct cross-legs move to my enjoyment and amazement... it really made eating more fun...
aaaaahhhhh... dami pa sana kwento pero this will do for the mean time...

Repost: Candyaudioline doing "Light Years" (Eraserheads)
To Humble...
It think this was taken some time april of this year... we first covered this song 2 years ago around February for a UP Fair Eraserheads Tribute Night and we did it twice... first was at a late afternoon gig in Makati then the same night at the UP Fair gig... Mavi was still our singer then... We started doing this again about a year ago and we do have plans of recording it either for release or simply for documentaion purposes...

Kungfu Panda Inspired Practice Session: The Secret Secret Ingridient...
Hello Everyone...
Practice was fun last night... Our version of OMD's "Secret" is almost done... Just a little bit more twinkling and i'm pretty sure it's going to be something which we'll be proud of... We did get to record it on Video but Elaine's mic sucked at the last minute... that's why in this footage you get to here me more...
Parang ang payat mo dito sa video Elaine... Hmmmm, speaking of which, most of us at Candyaudioline except for Kel and Dennis, had already seen the movie "Kungfu Panda"... it's really a very funny and enjoyable film complete which cute characters and awesome fight scenes... Of the 3 of us who got to watch the movie, i think Elaine's bit the most influenced by it... here's proof...
hehehe... actually, it took this picture of Elaine months before we saw the movie so maybe it's the other way around...
We are all looking forward to maggot's return and we just can't wait to play another gig... by the way, I plan to move some Aspirin songs to Candy... Hope we could record some more songs in the studio some tiome in the near future...
Thanks to Apple by the way for taking the video and also to those who've been posting stuff in our Tagboard...

Candyaudioline - Secret (OMD Cover)
Hello everyone,
Elaine wasn't around for practice last night so we decided to concentrate on the cover song that we plan to record for an upcoming compilation of 80's songs... Our first choice was JoBoxer's "Just Got Lucky" which we tried to dismantle during practice a week ago... Not really confortable with how we approached the song, i decided to do another one... I chose this one from OMD because i've wanted to cover this a long time ago...
So here's our take on OMD's "Secret"...
Hmmm, not bad i think... But not good enough either... I guess there's still a lot to do with this one... Hope we came do justice to such a splendid song... Honestly, it is really quite difficult to re do this one since it's already perfect as it is... The original i mean... But just for the sake of fun and pride, we'll just see as to how we can take this further...
Hoy Elaine, post ko lyrics para mapag-aralan mo para next practice okey na...
OMD - Secret
Secret...
Secret...
I've got a secret and I can't explain
And all the time I've waited for this day
All along I was never in doubt
I always knew it would never get out
There are things that I cannot tell
And there are things that you know damn well
This is getting very hard for me
I guess you'd better just wait and see
(Shout)
This is all.... this is all oh...
Secret...
You heard a message and the message was clear
All the time you wipe away that tear
All I want is to hold your hand
To see the sun and walk the sand
You make me sad and you make me glad
And now you see all my secret is this love... Is love, is love
My secret is this love
Everyday you're always there
You comfort me and make me feel it's worth my while
And then I look around and you're not there
And everyday you say you care and I'll be well
Secret...
This is all, this is all
I've got a secret and I can't explain (this is all... Secret)
All I want is to hold your hand (this is all)
All along I was never in doubt (this is all... Secret)
To see the sun and to walk the sand (this is all... Secret)
I've got a secret and I can't explain (this is all...)

A Couple Of Good News And...
Hello Everyone...
Haven't realized it yet but i think ako nalang yata ang nagpopost at nag babasa ng mga pinaglalagay ko dito sa blog na ito... hehehe, okey lang... wala naman akong magagawa eh kung talagang ako lang ang____... Even sa tagboard ako lang rin aside from someone who calls herself Scarlette saying that this blog's "boring"...
well, each one of us has his or her own idea of what is and is not boring... thanks anyway Scarlette for posting something in this really boring tagboard of ours... Just can't really understand why my bandmates don't post here... it's either ther're just shy in letting other people know what's on their minds or they're just busy with other sort of thing which they find more interesting rather than helping me out in making this really boring blog look "Not" boring...
Let me see, Elaine for one has yet to accept an invite i sent her many moons ago to become a part of this blog... according to her, she seldom post in blogs and i think she's a very busy person... being in the medical profession during the day and an all out "Chibigista" during the night...
Dennis and Kel on the other hand has been very busy lately... Kamikazee's been very active which means, me, Dennis and Kel don't have much time for other things... as far as i know, Dennis is very pre-occupied with, sleeping, eating, surfing the net for "On Sale" musician stuff, working once in a while and playing PSP... Kel on the other hand i guess is also like Dennis.... well there's nothing wrong with making lot's of money but i really hate it when they begin to act like their only connected to me because of work, they seldom reply to text messages related to Candyaudioline... Anyways i'm tired of telling them what to do... even the practice sessions we've been having ain't helping either... i really hate the way the our drummer plays the drums... hindi naman Metal and candyaudioline eh and hindi naman kailngang puno ng nota lahat na kanta... PUNYETA TALAGA!!! Sa lahat ng ayaw ko eh yung hindi ako sinusunod!!! Pero pinipilit ko pa rin magpasensya but it won't last forever... maybe someday i'll just explode and possibly bring them along with me...
As for Rene, in spite of him playing dumb and acting stupid he's the only other guy in the band that shows concern and respect for the music... i feel really lucky for having him around during Maggot's absence...
About the good news... Elaine might be staying until October and Maggot's coming back late June...
on another sour note, i just recently realised that someone took money from my bag (AGAIN)!!! $302... What a big loss...

Ang Bilis Talaga Ng Araw...
Hello everyone...
It's June already... parang nung ilang araw lang eh March pa lang... yah naku, buhay nga naman... ang hirap habulin... Just when you think that you're comfortably in the lead, you'll suddenly find yourself catching up with the dictates of time...
Just last December, this band was badly in need of someone who could at least make everyone feel that like Candyaudioline is one happy bus ride to anywhere... Come January, we got what we wished for... and from that time onwards, it was fun again... But there was a catch to it, that it was not to last a year but during that time, 9 months was good enough for us... then all of a sudden, like Cancer, it went to just barely 7 months... Still, we saw it as better than nil... now that 7 months is just Barely a month and a half til deadline...
it's really hard to enjoy things when you know that it's about to end... and that it'll be close to impossible to agaain get into such a state but that's nothing new to us and to me in particular...
just have to enjoy the few remaining days of sunshine i guess...

Makati Park Gig...
Hello Everyone...
Sure felt great to have played again... Last Sunday, we played a gig at Makati Park... We did just 3 songs but i guess that was enough to make us feel good...
haven't been seeing each other lately... haven't have practice sessions as a complete unit too... during our last practice about 10 days ago, Elaine was out on vacation but we still had to rehease since someone else (Apple) was filling in for Elaine...
i guess we did well... i did like Elaine's singing during "Better View"... reminded me of how Anna (an Ex-Candyaudioline)used to do it... Too bad Deana (Kel's girlfriend and Candy's honorary 6th member) wasn't able to catch it on tape... I didn't quite like how i sang on "An Empty You"... I was like "uncomfortably" hearing my voice through my monitors which really made me sing much louder and a really awkward...
Gosh it's already June, and July's fast approaching... how i wish thing's were a bit different... at least everything been going great lately for us since the start of the year and we're all trying to enjoy it while we can...

I'm So Tired...
Hello everyone...
It's been a long time since my last post... the reason is (drum rolls....), aside from work, is that i've become so frustrated with my other band (Soft Pillow Kisses) that i decided to shift my attention to something else... Since this is not Soft Pillow Kisses' Blog, i wont elaborate... But to give you a hint, it has something to do with the band's pride itself... maybe someday, everything's going to be fine again...
Just a while ago we played at Club Dredd... Elaine wasn't around (she's in La Union since Saturday pa yata) coz i forgot to inform her last week of the gig... it's a good thing that Apple (Moonstar88's "Road Star Manager")gave in to my "very very dramatic short notice (as in just last Monday afternoon)" request to session for us in place of Elaine...
I was a bit surprised as to how she fared during the gig... we were able to practice in 3 hours about 7 songs("An Empty You", "Better View", "Flaming Walls", "Felt So Fine", "We've Been There". My Silver Chair" and "All Smiles") last Monday... i was a bit in doubt because of the 7 songs we rehearsed, in only 3 songs ("All Smiles", "Better View" and "Felt So Fine") she did quite convincingly the other's were a bit questionable...
She did very well i guess during the gig... Of the 4 song we played, "All Smiles", "Better View", "Flaming Walls" and "My Silver Chair" it was only during "Flaming Walls" that her singing "dipped" quite a bit... She was even dancing during the songs with really her really big "Plastic Covered Lyric Sheet" in hand , talking to the crowd during breaks and she even made an effort to introduce us by our names but i quickly told her not to... it's not a bad thing really but i don't see it necessary for us to be introduced individuality...
Here we are, and this one's "Better View"...
Thanks Apple...
