we played last night at Mayrics... we really wanted to play more but because we started really late, my planned 6 song spot was trimmed down to just 4... it was still enjoyable, though i was really pissed at myself for not bringing my gear... i just had to content myself with my distortion while Dennis on the otherhand was really sounding way too cool inspite of those really pathetic guitar amps...
watching the video, i guess Ecay has improved a bit more, just forget the last outing we had at Sta. Lucia where she sounded like a 14 year old fronting a metal band... her voice on our first song last night (Wicked Glances) was really something... it had me thinking to go Slowdive-ish the next time i put my head into writing songs again... and also during the second song (Sad Inside) where she was really hitting those high notes properly... Although i just can't comment on the third song (Cellophane Smile) coz Deana was a bit too close to the stage and by this time, we really started turning up our guitars... but i remember hearing her sing the song properly... i can tell she's now very comfortable with songs sung in higher pitches...
we were suppose to do "Pretend" but i decided at the last minute to change the song to "Flaming Walls" just to test how well she could adjust to a situation wherein she has to do an unrehearsed song...
i think she did well this time around although during the last part of the song, she seemed to have lost her consistency... Still it was something to be happy about specially on my part since i wasn't too happy with the last practice session we had the night before wherein she seem to have lost grasp of the right way of delivering the songs... i guess that with a few more practices and some more dedication on her part, she'll be able to do things the way i want it to be done...
praises also for Maggot who did really well inspite of not feeling well and also not being able to practice... and to Kel too for his precise execution... just like how we practiced it, intense but relaxed... as for me and Dennis, we could only wish for some better functioning guitar amps....
