Drunken Master...

Hello everyone...

we've been very quiet again... this time i've no idea as to why. i guess each one of us has been busy with other things other than being members of candyaudioline... feeling ko tuloy parang wala nanaman akong mga kabanda... what's new!!!

last monday, we played at mayrics, it was quite a memeorable one especially for me because i was sort of an emberrassment that night due to excessive drinking. i was so drunk that night that i don't really know what i was doing during the early part of our set... worst, i was the one doing the singing because our vocalist was sick that time... i felt very uncomfortable because i haven't been singing alone in candy for more that 2 years already... i even made a really embarrassing thing when i told the crowd that parokya ni edgar was playing after us when in fact parokya wasn't lined up that night... oh well, that's life...

bye for now...

Dilemna

hello everyone...

tonight we'll be at mayrics and i've been lo0king forward to this gig with loads of excitement and anticipation... but just an hour ago, mavi texted me that she has problems with her throat and also feeling a bit under the weather... it looks like i'll be singing alone tonight... something i haven't done for quite a very long time (2 years or so) i had just texted selena but she has yet to reply... hope that mavi could still make it...

oh well, might as well prepare for the worst...

That 70's Show...

hello everyone...

we had a great time at 70's bistro last monday night... there was a big crowd and the thrill of playing some songs that we have yet to play live was really overwhelming...

we took a long time setting up because i wanted to make sure that everything was in order but to my disgust, one guitar amp was busted - the one which dennis was to use... we decided to turn our volume down and just get on with it. the first song "flaming walls" was a bit of a let down because we haven't gotten the right levels yet and mavi did a minor error when she sang the last stanza a full bar ahead of its original placement... we chose "painful" as our second song because i still felt that carlo have yet to familiarize himself with the song pattern... it was almost flawless but by the end of the song, carlo was still playing the drums. i guess no one noticed the mistake and the crowd did like the song, i think... the third song we did was "sad inside" - one of my favourites... by this time we were sure of what was going om and everything was falling in the right places. i can even hear myself and mavi's voice sing in good harmony... again the crowd liked the song... by this time i was enjoying the thought of us playing at such a very low volume. "wicked glances" followed and we were all in a sort of a hypnotic-lock when all of a sudden dennis' amp was like having a very wicked asthma attack... me and dennis just looked at each other and decided to ignore it... after that me, mavi and maggot were having a minor discussion on stage as to how many songs we had already done and because of this, we forgot that we still had to do "nearby town". we did "my silver chair" with the volumes up a notch and i'm sure we were starting to sound a bit macho... we went down stage smiling and for me, it was one (the first one i guess) great gig for this very new candyaudioline line up...

the Highlight of our 70's show...
- two really pretty korean girls approached me and asked me... "Hey, Ellow... you guys have greats songs"... is your vocalist korean?

Happy When It Rains...

Hello everyone...

First of all i would like to thanks those bands who tried to male it to mayrics last saturday for Buzz Night!!! And also i would like to apologize to those who were present at mayrics for us (Candyaudioline) doing a rehearsal session on stage instead of performing (Our vocalist was expected to arrive late because her work was up until 11pm)...

Here's what happened. me and my candymates decided to practice at mayrics way before the regular playing time of the event... I arrived at around 8pm there were about 3 people seated. 10 minutes later Maggot arrived followed a little shortly by Carlo... by this time around 11 souls were inside i was a bit worried because the rain was really pouring hard. by 9 pm, espaƱa was beginning to get flooded. dennis arrived 10 minutes later and immediately proceeded to the stage to practice... we did feel a bit awkward because there was already a lot of people watching. i asked the guys a mayrics to turn-off the PA system and just let the vocals come out of the stage monitors... 30 minutes into the practice session people were beginning to leave. i took some time to text my othe bandmates mavi and the rest of pillow and some of the other bands that the streets goinging to mayrics was already flooded... we went on practicing for the next hour and a half... tether drummer Jigger and her grilfriend were the only ones presnt at the time we were practicing... by the time we went down stage, flood-water was already at the doorsteps of mayrics... i got text messages from My Science Project, Lazy Lorelei and Kings and Pawns saying that they too were caught in flood at different points leading to mayrics...

it was about 12 midnight and the possibility of get out of that area was next to impossible. we decided to wait for the waters to subside... it was a good thing that the mayrics staff was very accomodating. letting us fool aroud the place specially dennis who was having a telethonwith a "girlfriend" for more than 5 hours, during which we had a swell time making fun of him by talking to his girlfiend and making them quarrel about issues of dennis' being a gigolo hehehe... we also had and acoustic guitar jamming session wherein carlo showed us his wide array of knowhow in the field of music from condiman to mainstream pop rock, me and maggot did some pictorial sessions infront of the bar wherein i was able to take a picture of me creating a powerball... at times maggot and carlo took turns at napping while i scour the area for a possible way out but it was only until 6am that waters showed signs of going... we left mayrics at around 7am and went home...

that's all for now...

By the way, we'll be playing at 70's Bistro tonight...

Here we go again...

hello everyone,

seems that we've been very quiet lately but the truth is...

okey, weve been busy with all sorts of stuff from personal to band related. candyaudioline have had atleast 4 practice sessions for the past two weeks. 2 were done in JR's - our fave studio "were anything from everything is a mess" in Cubao. another one was done during a gig last week at Freedom Bar and one more at Dish inside the ABS-CBN compound... i'm happy to say that "i think" we're jelling together as a unit to a point that i had to do a "Pat Reily" during our practice session last Sunday and a "Robert Jaworski" during last Monday's affair...

i bet you have no idea about what i'm saying... okey... i'll explain... nagalit at nainis lang naman ako sa... okey nevermind... the second half of the practice we had last Monday night was quite Satisfactory... The problem wasn't about their ability to what i tell them to do, it's more of remembering what needs to be done... I just hope that some of my bandmates learn from those momentary burst of hostility on my part...

About the picture... yes, we are still all smiles...
