april 11 mayric's

after work, ayn picked me up in makati and we headed to the backbeat office to see allan. he was sort of sleeping when we arrived so he asked for us to wait for half an hour before we all left to have dinner at hemady. but the boss came out after that and they started having a business meeting, so we weren't able to leave until 8 pm. ayn and i were so hungry the whole time but we had to content ourselves with just staring at that empty space on the wall we had designated for our pink plaque award.

the three of us had dinner at 77. buttered chicken and spicy beef. mmm. sobrang sulit talaga dun. before we knew it, though, it was 9:30 and we had to rush to mayric's. kiel arrived soon after we did, but dennis was late. he was reportedly off "gallivanting" with charles (doing what, we could only guess... probably something involving women), but where exactly, nobody knew. finally, he arrived and all he had to do was lovingly caress allan's arm to win him over, and we were off.

we had a very shoegazy sound last night because the guitars sounded very fuzzy and kiel's beats sounded slower and (it seemed to me) full of reverb (weird). it was cool, though. also, i was able to sing relaxed, though these loud drunks in the front kept heckling us about the volume of the vocals and saying, "yeheeeyyyy... wow pareh, di naman namin naintindihaaan." it was a breakthrough for me because i didn't really let my temper flare the way it always used to in situations like that. i kind of chuckled to myself and ignored them, no matter how much they clamored for volume. the whole crowd kind of wound down and retreated into a stupor because they were there for the upbeat bands and the whole weirdness of our set seemed too much. but the rest of us thought it was good.

on my way down after the set, those guys were making snide comments and it turned out that i wasn't entirely unaffected because i could not resist throwing my used tissue paper over my shoulder at them. hehe.

we hung out for a while outside and talked, then ayn took me home.
