At Last...

Hello everyone...

After days of cancelled practice sessions and inactivity, we were able to have one last night (or was it just a while ago...)... well at least we did something...

it was fun although it did drain us a bit... i guess it was for 4 hours or more... the first hour and a half was with Maraian (Soft Pillow Kisses) since Jann Paul (Soft Pillow Kisses) was not around and Charles (Soft Pillow Kisses) had to tell me at the last minute that we could not make it... We did about 8 - 9 Pillow songs in double repetitions in preparation for next Wednesday's Buzz Night...

the next hour was for Candyaudioline... we did about 7 songs just to refresh us of some of the old songs that we seldom play... it was supposed to be a longer session but our current session singer seemed to have other plans for the night... wish i could find someone more dedicated... a pity because it seems that she's improving a bit but i don't see any interest and sincerity in her... she's like going thru the motion so to speak... no heart at all... after she left, the rest of us began practicing some cover songs... i was inspired by Selena's (Ex-Candyaudioline Vox) recent multiply post with her doing acoustic renditions of a few Indie favorites of mine... we might Jam with her this coming buzz night... we'll see...

It's almost Christmas... But i can't feel it... Maybe it has something to do with the absence of cool air or the lack of Christmas lights in the streets... Or maybe i'm just a bit exhausted from the past weeks work... or maybe i'm just growing old... Alone?

Hello Everyone...

Let me start my post with a classic Dennis and Maggot conversation piece... This one taken from a recent Tagbord sagutan:

hehehe...

i miss those live "asarans" between Dennis and Maggot... those two were the main reason why practice and bonding sessions where always fun and a thing to look forward to... although nowadays, kahit paano, masaya pa rin ang Practice Sessions at bonding Sessions thanks to Rene, Dennis and Kel's never ending "BASAGAN NG PURI" ng isa't isa... this, in a way has somehow help Candyaudioline survive... i can say na medyo okey na rin yung samahan namin ngayon... the practice sessions are becoming fruitful... Cuckooh's singing has improved a bit, the last two gigs we played was pleasing specially the one we did last December 1 at Saint Joseph's College... I Had it on video and i plan to post it soon at youtube...

Safe to say that we're back again on the right track... and in spite of the fact that everything is still shakey for us, at least we're all enjoying everything that is happening to us at the moment... that's something to be happy about i guess...

and another thing is that Maggot might be coming back... Hopefully...

nothing new really. still no proper vocalist, no new bassist and we, the surviving members don't have anymore time for candyaudioline either...

we did have an impromtu gig about 2 weeks ago with Selena (ex-candyaudioline vocalist) doing vocals for us and it was quite an enjoyable one but after that, things have gone from bad to worse... punctuated by Rene's no show during the last time we had practice last Sunday... i guess that outing really broke our backs big time... desperation and hopelessness was very obvious that night... The three of us agreed that it wasn't working... and that there's no better way to kick the monster back to life other than injecting fresh faces to this really tired and battered line-up...

i've been trying but it seems that no one's really interested... haven't given up though...

this will have to do for the meantime...

its been a long time since my last post... Reason? there's nothing really to post... same situation, different days...

still at it though, inspite of having just 3 long standing members (Me, Dennis and Kel) intact with support from friends (Rene and Cuckooh)... still haven't had luck looking for new recuits... Maybe it's about time to give up and just focus on other things like the real world... Just concerning ourselves with anything other than keeping this very tired long over the hill, over used excuse for going out on a lazy evening thing... well what do you suggest we do?

It Wasn't So Bad... Really...

Hello everyone...

last night was Buzz Night... And it wasn't as bad as i expected...

Recovering from a month's absence, we kicked off with me, Rene, Dennis and Kel playing four cover songs... by the time we reached the 1st half of the 1st stanza of the first song, the 4 of us realized that we were becoming an embarrassment... by the time we ended the second song Kel begged me, in secrecy, that we should go down and not push through with the remaining 2 songs... but since it was done in the spirit of fun and was an excuse to add another "band" to the line up, we shockingly marched our way through the last two songs... next up was Sunsetdrive... and as usual, they did very good, in spite the trouble that they were having with the bass amp... Candyaudioline followed next with Ex-Candy Ralph filling in for a supposedly Tether-bound (Tether had a gig somewhere that night)Dennis... Ralph played exceptionally well and everyone was impressed (even me) at how he played and made his guitar sound like no other... I forgot the name of the next band but the were formerly known as Mizwa and really improved by leaps and bounds... very up-to-date-sounding-indie-guitar-rock... they were almost perfect that night if they hadn't jammed those Foo Fighters and Weezer? songs sung in the most emo-ish manner... Last band was Soft Pillow Kisses with its line-up intact... great set that everyone was kept glued to their seat through the 7 songs that they played...

what more can i say? buzz night is back!!! HOPEFULLY...

We've Been...

Hello everyone...

We've been trying our best these past few days to put life back to this already dying band of ours... Since I've got back from the States, we haven't have luck finding a replacement bassist... Recently, I've also decided to look for a permanent vocalist but still no luck either... we've had three practice sessions already prior to last night's session, all of which was sort of a boner since none of the members, including me, seem to put something or anything that would at least give meaning or value to the time we were spending cranking up our gears...

Prior to last night's session, I've come to a decision to just stick with Rene (Soft Pillow Kisses bassist) as our permanent bassist for the meantime and just concentrate on looking for a singer... also we've been putting a lot of effort on cover songs... not that we're running out of ideas, it is just that it would make me more comfortable singing other band's songs rather than our own for now since we don't have a proper vocalist...

Last night's practice was sort of kick in the butt... In spite of our being very tired coming from 2 very tiring work commitments, we were still able to jam for about 2 hours... In that 2 hours, we were able to clean up the 4 cover songs that we were focusing on plus did some polishing on some Candyaudioline songs for Rene's sake... Also, we tried jamming at least 4 Soft Pillow Kisses songs just in case the need comes... Do you know what I mean?

That's that for now...

By the way, Buzz Night's going to be on the 24th of October...

Hello Everyone...

Nakabalik na rin ako sa wakas dito sa Pilipinas... And surprisingly,i feel very good about it...

Sino ba naman ang hindi sasaya once nasa familiar territory na... Isipin nyo, pagbalik na pagbalik ko sa amin eh katakot-takot na problema na na agad ang sumalubong sa akin... Hay buhay nga naman... Pero ayus lang, at least dito lang and not in some foreign place wherein i'm not familiar with the people, terrain, laws and ways...

Hay talagang back to Zero... Putol ang linya ng phone ko, ubos na rin ang pera ko... nawalan pa ako ng cellphone tapos bumigay pa itong supposedly top-class-high-performance phone ko... Pati ang Candyaudioline kailangan din mag-simula ulit...

I'm Missing Home

Hello Everyone...

Haven't really had the time to post... We're in New Jersey right nowand tomorrow morning we'll be leaving for L.A. the the following day we'll be heading back home...

I never really got to enjoy my stay here in the U.S. for the past month... At this very moment i feel really sad... Hopefully, the thought of finally coming back home and being with people whom i truly like to be with could at least bring some positive feelings out of me... (parang ang pangit yata ng grammar nun ah)...

Ang lungkot talaga dito sa totoo lang... although mababait yung mga tao specially yung mga kababayan natin na talaga namang umasikaso sa amin dito inspite of their very busy scheds...

Alam nyo ba, nanakawan kami ng gamit dito sa New Jersey nung date nung last commitment namin almost 2 days ago... Nabuksan yung van na pinaglagyan ng mga instruments... grabe, panic mode kaming lahat pero nagawan ng paraan at nakabili naman ng gamit para lang matuloy yung last show namin... Buti pa dito, halos lahat ng gusto mong mabili ay nandito... Cge saka nalang ako mag kukwento... balikan ko pa labahan ko... hehehe

oh well, we're just 2 weeks away from completing this tour and i'm really looking forward to going back to the Philippines... yus naman dito at napaka-ganda pa... dto ng pala ako Las Vegas ngayos kung saan napakaliwanag ng mga ilaw na akala mo ay isng napakalaking perya ang lugar na ito...

na-lampasan ko na ang introvert phase ko at unti-unti na rin akong nakiki-salimuha sa mga kasama namin dto... okey naman sla at very maasikaso sa amin... tumataba na ga ako lalo sa sobrang asikaso eh... ehehehe...

saya talaga dito sa states... isipin mo kung cno cno lang pwede mong mapanuod dito... kahapon, Peter, Bjorn and John with The Clientele naman yung pinanuod ko... sobrang biglaan nga eh... as in nalaman namin na may gig cla aroung 4 in the afternoon lang... hay buhay ng naman...

don't really want to give a review but here's a slight comment about the bands and the whole gig in general... Winshire yung venue... sobrang ganda ng lugar, yung ambiance kakaiba, yung band kahit bopols ka eh pagnasaloob ka na eh magfee-feeling intelehente ka na... ganun ang pakiramdam ko kahapon eh... hehehe, para akong nanunuod ng film festival sa Shangrila kung saan napapalibutan ako ng isang katerbang... di ko nalang itutuloy... so on with the show...

i forgot the name of the first performer... girl sha doing mala hope sandoval style singing na mas exage pa... pero magaling sya mag gitara at may dating yung mga pyaesa nya... sa set lang nya maganda yung tunog...

The Clientele went next... di talaga ako masyadong "into" them but i know that they do put out really decent pop tunes... evident naman yung mga tunes nila last night but i was really bothered by how the sounded last night... masyadong laid back... not that the band was intentionally being laid back, it was more of how the sound guy was making them sound on stage... if only the bass was turned up a little bit louder and the drums was made to sound a little bit crisp and brighter, then i could've really enjoyed their set...

Peter, Bjorn and John was the main band of the evening... they really are a great, tight, confident band... great songs kahit na sobrang basic ng iba... they make it up via energy and vibe... yung lang at medyo rock-out cla that night... high light ng set nila was when they were joined by the drummer and the keyboardist of The Clientele dung their "hit" song "Young Folks"... enjoy din ako dun sa mga songs nila kung saan nag-no-noisefest sila sa dulo... hay naku... ang nakasira lang sa kanila ay yung tunog na lumalabas sa PA system ng venue... actually, okey pa rin naman pero sa klase ng gamit na meron yung venue, mas maganda pa sana yung pwede nilang maging tunog nung gabing yun... oh well well well...

... yun lang muna... if may opportunity ako, po-post ko naman sa Pillow-Blog yung Universal Studio gimik namin kahapon... haharharhard-core!!!

Anak, huwag ka na malungkot... mas okey pa rin dyan sa Pinas compared dto sa States... Dto, maluwang ang mga kalsada, maganda mga buildings at mga tanawin, wala gaanong basura, maraming pleasant looking na mga tao, malinis ang hangin, malalaki ang servings ng mga food, maganda mga sasakyan at masasabing may napaka-ayos na systema ng pamamahala... sa Pinas naman eh... aahh... mmmm... huh... just don't be sad okey... ako nga dapat ang malungkot kasi ang taba-taba ko na tapos magkamali pa ako ng nabiling cd nung isang araw... iilan pa lang yung high light ng stay ko dito... yung una ay yun ma-meet ko yung isang friend ko(Patty) dto mismo sa San Francisco... nakaka-aliw din kasi yung pagme-meet namin dahil after ilang attempts namin i-try mag-meet sa manila for the past 2 years (Taga-Paranaque kasi ito eh), eh dito lang pala kami magkikita... isang highlight ng stay ko rito ay ang pagpunta namin kahapon sa Treasure Island Festival... napanuod ko ang Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! as in 6 meters away lang ako pero sablay yung Vivitar Camera ko kaya pangit mga kuha ko then Film School naman kung saan sobrang front na front ako... paksyet yang Film School, ang galing magpatunog ng gitara... na-insecure tuloy yung Shoegazey-ness ko...

Bitter Sweet

Hello everyone...

i miss the philippines and worst, i've gained a lot of pounds... i think i've gained something like 20 lbs or so...

It's been almost a week since i got here and i've been to four places here in the US... honolulu, and maui from sept 8 to 11 then we went to las angeles just last night and now we're in san francisco...

of all the places i've been so far, honolulu and san fransisco's the best...

looks like i won't be able to do a candyaudioline gig here in the states... we've been busy doing lots of things both gig related and shopping...

as of the moment, i've only met one friend from the philippines, patty, who's been here in the states for almost 3 weeks now... she's studying here... i've met up with here about four hours ago and we've just finished wandering around the perimeter of the hotel having a good time laughing and reminiscing stuff from the past and talking to some out-of-touch marketing canadian dude who says the he has a dream of one day blah blah blah... hehehe, she still in the hotel right now just taking a nap... i'll be waking her up in about an hour and a half so the she could go home... i'm so glad that we got to see each other again... it's been a long time already since the last time we got together... ang galing nga eh, dito pa sa States...

there's so much to talk about although not much has really been happening here... there's so much beauty in this place but i still miss my country... can't wait to go back there...

so how's candyaudioline, what will happen to us now that maggot is out of the picture?

hello everybody...

last night i invited both pillow and candy band mates for a practice session which i was planning to turn into a despedida of sorts for me for i am going to the states and will be away for about a month... as usual, everyone was late save for, dennis, kel, pillow mates rene and sir charles... is in short late na kami nakapag start but once we got started, everything was fine... candy went first at around 11:15pm followed by pillow at around 12:30am... we concluded the session at about 1:15am... we stayed a while for the usual kulitan and piktyuran piktyuran... as usual bidang bida si dennis na pasimpleng sinusunog yung syota ni maggot... just when we were about to proceed to our favourite after practice tambayan to satisfy dennis' hungriness, maggot told me that she'll be leaving the country in a month's time and that she might work there... i asked her if she'll be staying there for good and she said "yes"...

well as always, malalagasan nanaman kami... just when things are going on quite well... sayang si maggot... kahit late lagi at sobrang dinodyos na si judy anne santos, kool na kool pa rin sya sa amin... mamimiss namin ang kakikayan, kakulitan at ang kabaklaan nya...

Late Post: Candyaudioline @ Sta. Lucia Mall

Hello everyone...

late post na talaga ito kasi i've been really busy for the past few days...

Candyaudioline played at Sta. Lucia East last Saturday, August 18 at an NU107 event... Pocket Concerts yata yun eh with Moonstar88 and Sandwich... We weren't really slated to play but Moonstar88's singer was really down with flu and a certain throat illness to a point that she wasn't certain if she'll be able to do a full set so we had to fill-in for the slot for them so that they'd be allowed to shorten their set... As usual, wala kaming proper singer so i had to sing nanaman all by myself... sayang nga because i saw Mich Dulce by the end of the of our first song... if i've known that she'll be there (she was with Sandwich i think) i could've asked her to sing on a song or two... nevertheless, i think we did very well... and we did have a great time on stage... feeling nga namin napaka-pogi namin that time eh... nas pogi kami cguro nun kung nandun lamg yun singer namin na until now eh hindi ko alam kung nanidito na sa Pinas o wala pa... She said that her Chine trip will only be for 3 days but its more that a week na and no reply from text messages or not even a return call... hay buhay nga naman... hanggang kailan kaya kami ganito...

By the way, i'm going to the US in 2 weeks time and i'm thinking of Playing there as Candyaudioline... Ruel (ex-candyaudioline/Parokya Ni Edgar roadie) will be playing the drums, Romel (Sonne58/Parokya Ni Edgar Sound Engineer) will be playing bass and Panch (Kamikazee Drum tech) will be playing lead guitars... i'm thinking of getting a singer from there (US)para pogi... Sana matuloy... and even right this very moment, i'm keeping my fingers crossed...

almost a week na rin since last time na nakatugtog kami... Kailan kaya yung next gig namin... Si Mavi nasa China yata, si Maggot, pa-nood nood lang ng DVD, me, Dennis and Kel naman ay busy sa Backbeat related work namin...

We'll just have to look forward to the next one nalang siguro...

Very Quiet Lately

Hello Everyone...

After 2 Great gigs, 70's Bistro (Aug. 6) and Sharkeys (Aug. 11), it seems that we have become very quiet lately... So I've decided to let you in on what's up with each one of us for the past few days...

Mavi - is very busy with work and with her burgeoning love-life :( for the past few days... She told me that she might be going to China this Friday... Work related according to her... She has already resigned at Zara and now works for Play And Display... Also she has been bugged by an alien ailment affecting her skin... Medical Science has yet to discover such an ailment, lucky for her, she has no idea as to what dangers it has to offer...

Maggot - has recently undergone heavy hair repair via hair rebonds... she is also busy studying indie fashion although she wouldn't admit it, it is very obvious because the way she dress-up has been improving lately... also, she is trying to adjust to her new life as a girlfriend (sorry Dennis, pangit sya eh) to a guy who is very mysterious by any standards... she also told me that she is trying to land herself a job... I guess she wasn't able to get the "Marimar" post...

Dennis - is preparing himself for worse times ahead... he has been busy praying somewhere in Quiapo to rain money and really luscious 16-19 year old girls... he will be very busy this latter half of August because the band that he roadies for will be having some gigs going through the end of this month... last of what i heard of him, he'll be tagging along with his brother which might earn him income big enough to sustain him with his addiction to rice...

Kel - has been very busy with another band that we are managing... although most of the gigs are only promo stuff which sadly will not help him earn the money he'll need to buy himself whatever he is planning to buy... Don't worry Kel... patience lang, Mabait naman si Lord eh...

Me - on the other hand is also busy with work, although once in a while, i get to watch movies with my movie watching buddies Rene (Soft Pillow Kisses) and Cuckooh (Ex-Candyaudioline / "Saging Lang Ang May Puso" Starrer /Model)... Just recently, i've encountered one of the very tragic things that has happened in this life of mine, my PC is suffering from a virus attack... now my precious files are in danger of being erased forever... very sad indeed considering the fact that most of the files there are very hard to find specially the Music and Video files... and to make things worse, my savings are now only in the 4 digit bracket... How sad, i'm also worrying about my up coming US Embassy interview...

So now at least you'll have an idea of what's been happening with us lately... We are also Human and we need to be loved, Just like everyone else does... The Smiths!!!

Nothing Really

Hello hello...

nothing good is happening to us lately... Inspite of having Mavi back, we have yet to see action as a complete unit... hopefully tonight at 70's Bistro...

We've had been having countless of fruitless practice sessions due to our not being complete in attendance... i'm beginning to feel that we are slowly being demoralized because of this and that each practice session that we have without a singer turns out be just another exercise in non-sense jammings and long-extended yosi breaks... but still there are a few things that strengthens our bound... ilke the occassional picture-piktyurans and also the sure as hell kainan-cun-girlwatching sessions... by the way, me and Dennis got dead-drunk last friday... that was very scary specially for me... i thought i'd die that night... promise it won't happen again...

hopefully everything will change tonight...

on a much sadder note, 2 of my guitars are in a state of "unexplained damage"... My white Fender Jaguar's lower toggle switch is broken while it's lower tone knob is a bit loose... Same gose my brown Fender Jaguar too has problems with its circuitry... how bad could thing get?

excited na ako mag-candyaudioline mamaya... kumpleto at last... balik candy si mavi, nandyan si dennis na as always eh laging gutom at puro kahalayan ang isip, si kel as usual umaasa akong magiging disipilnado sa mga palo nya later, as for maggot, umaasa ako ng mas maayos na outfit later...

parang yung sa Soft Pillow Kisses kagabi... sarap ng feeling pag tumutugtog na kumplete ang kabanda mo, walang absent... parang isang section sa school yan eh... mas marami kayong kayang gawin kasi kabisado nyo na isa't isa...

Hello everyone...

Just can't wait to play at Mayrics tomorrow... We just have to erase that sort of embarrassing one we had just a week ago...

I had a really neat bonding session with my Candy-mates 2 Saturdays ago... We talked about a lot of things... i for one stressed that i won't let Jinky play anymore for reasons that i feel would be beneficial for the band and Jinky herself... Hope she's doing fine right now... I'm worried about her, especially her health... we also talked and even convinced Maggot to pick-up where Jinky left but she doesn't want to be a lead singer... Best part of the bonding session was when we all ganged up on Maggot with regards to her fashion sense... hehehe... but of the many things we talked about last time, the vocalist issue was the one which really made me do some thinking... i realised that everyone wanted Mavi back... although Kel suggested that i do the singing for the meantime until a time when we can have someone sing for Candyaudioline for good...

Good News my fellow bandmates... i might give in to your request... Just give me enough time to pull myself together... Okey...

Sad Part 1:

We are without a singer again... Yup, just like before... Sad to say, just as when we thought that Jinky was almost up to it... all of a sudden, she had to "fall a part"... Can't blame her though... And she did try i'm sure of it...

Not like the one before her... who had so much potential but lacked two of the most important "faculties" that God has given mankind: " Heart and Brain"... You know who you are... How dare you lash out on me like that, acusing me of things that people like you could only think of... You're not the type of person that i'd fall for... Don't believe in yourself too much... Naging mabait lang ako sa iyo nun because akala ko you were worth our time... Stupid me... i should've listened to what my friends were saying about you... I hope that someday, you'll get to realise how pathetic you are sometimes... dapat when i had my chance to straighten you out, i should've done it pero i didn't because i thought you'd be able to see it on your own... mali pala... Don't worry, you will someday... Okey ka rin naman kahit paano. i did saw some of it nung close pa tayo... Goodluck!!! and please lang, may isang picture ka dun sa multiply mo na sobrang nakakadiri... please lang tanggalin mo yun... baka may gumamit nun para sirain ka lang... pero kung proud ka dun, bahala ka...

Last night Soft Pillow Kisses played at Route196... Selena (Yeeheeee!!!) was there to watch... Since Kel and Denis was sessioning for Pillow last night and Rene (SPK Bassist) know some candy songs, it tempted me to ask Selena to sing as Candyaudioline... I asked Sir Alex of Mint Car who happened to be the organizer last night if Candyaudioline could play a couple of songs right after the last act (The Late Isobel)... he said yes... So right after TLI's set, hurriedly set-up our gear and proceeded with the first of three songs... Beleive me, the best gig so far... i miss having Selena as a bandmate... Ang galing galing!!! I could feel how happy Kel and Dennis were after the set... Even Rene who was so terrified at doing an unprepared set shared our sentiments... Kel even went far as to personally ask Selena to sing for us in which Selena "regretfully" declined... All in all... we were all happy that night... i even forgot that Pillow played that night...

Sad Part 2:

Hearing Selena decline Kel's request made me really sad that night... well, that's fate for us... she's doing great with her band right now and i don't want to be in their way... i remember how i hated it when my bandmates were being asked to session or form a side project of sorts... what can i do... Candyaudioline's an "indie" band... Just happy at playing and doing well onstage and nothing more... No aspirations whatsoever of trying to be big... well that's what i think and what i want... just to play and play... make good if not really great songs... have people with the right ear acknowledge us and like the stuff the we dish out or even inspire others to walk the path that we chose to walk... and with it, making and having trully great friends that'll stay together even after our days as Candyaudioline...

Hello Everyone...

Inspite of us being a complete unit once more, i still feel that we have yet to reach our full potential, specially with this line-up...

i've been long wishing to get this band a really good singer/vocalist and i expected Jinky to be the one but i guess we still have a long way to go in that department... there are certain flaws that prevents her from becoming the "one"... it is in the manner in which she carries herself...

here's a slight run though of Candyaudioline vocalist and a little description of each...

Cheng - she's the first one we ever had... not really a good singer but her voice and her commanding presence on stage got things going for her... She's in Australia now...

Apol - well, she wasn't really made for Candyaudioline... she looked "preciously fragile" on stage inspite for her being a Ms. Rica Paraleja look-a-like... She bacame Soft Pillow Kisses' first vocalist and her voice was widely appreciated by everyone who's heard the song "It Will Never Last (Forever)" worldwide...

Tin Tin - she was too young when she sang for Candyaudioline... she was barely 16 i guess and she "looked her age" but she was a very very good singer... performing as a solo singer for school gigs during those days was of great use to us because she kwen how to talk to the crowd and she was really pretty... so what happened to her then... i had to take her out of Candyaudioline to pursue her studies but eventually she went into showbiz for sometime and did great doing solo shows... she didn't quite made it bigtime due to conflict of interests between her and her manager (mother)... WALANG TULUGAN!!!

Anna - She had a really beautiful but SOFT voice and she was really cute... strong stage presence and nothing more... so why is she not in the band anymore... i guess Ayn (former bassist) would contest this and would readily shout out "fallingout with me" but she (Ayn) and Anna were the first ones to fall out of each other... She now live in Canada...

Mich - one of the really best front woman that we had... very charismatic (hehehe)... she can really make the crowd listen... but we had to go separate ways due to a misunderstanding between me and her at one gig that we had at Freedom Bar... Kamusta na Kumare!!!

Selena - describe ko pa ba? Cge na nga... a really weird mix of personalities.... oftentimes she can be really commanding and confident but sometimes she let others ruin her concentration yet she never at any point lose poise on stage... she'll just do it... her leaving the band was due to a really stupid act which i've blame to myself... but that water inside the tank so to speak... I've recently watch her perform with her band (Ang Bandang Shirley) and would oftentimes stare at heaven's direction via the floor and would constantly ask my self... WHY WHY WHY...

Mavi - was a gamble of sorts... i first made her try out for Soft Pillow Kisses but i guess during that time, she wasn't really interested in being in a band... when Selena left Candyaudioline, i made a go at her again... the first rehearsal session did show signs of her being interested or maybe she was more interested in just helping me out with my situation then... she did blossomed into a really serious frontman material... she did had a great voice just as i had predicted and she was really a pretty cute sight on stage... but... but... but... i guess she's doing well right now with work...

Cuckooh - Surprisingly, she had potential... Modelling was also another thing going for her but me and my bandmates noticed that she had other things in mind... since we wanted someone who's really interested in fronting for us, we just had to let her go without her knowing...

Going back to Jinky... Confidence in the key... Maybe i'm just being impatient... She had her first gig with us last Monday at Mayrics... Singing-wise, she did very well but there were slight flaws but ignorable just the same... she still has to memorize the songs i think... so what's bothering me? Sabihin ko ba? maybe i will someday soon when she's able to shed all the shyness and uncertaities away... But here i think where the problem really is... i guess she has yet to really give an effort at letting herself lose during performance... she's always concerned at what audience might be thinking while we're performing affecting the way she presents herself... and the worse thing is... IT SHOWS...

Hoy Jinky! baka naman magpa-apekto ka dito ha... uupakan kita... Just prove me wrong please... we're really counting on you... make us proud...

This July's Buzz Night will be on the 26th... It was supposed to be on the 12th but had to move it due to "circumstances beyond my control"... In other words, hindi ko kasi maasikaso... medyo busy ako and i've been a bit "Under The Weather"... Mayrics pa rin as usual...

As i have said in a previous post, i've moved it to a Thursday for the mean time instead of the regular Saturdays in order for me to have a much higher chance at making it to the gig... hehehe, Selfish ko noh?

Not to much to post about... Seems that everything's fine with us right now... But no one knows what will happen next... with this band's penchant for disorder and chaos among members, i honestly don't have any idea as to where we'll go from here... still expecting something to shake my head though...

At the moment, i'm very excited on playing a gig with this line-up... we could've played last night but i was having second thoughts. i just want to make sure that the first gig of this line-up would be something to really smile about...

can't wait for that opportunity...

Welcome To Candyaudioline Jinky...

Hello Everyone...

Candyaudioline is a complete unit once more with the addition of Ex-Soft Pillow Kisses vocalist Jinky...

We had a practice session last night and i can safely say that she was able to fit in quite easily... with out the benifit of a study cd, she was able to sing about 8 songs in a span of 2 and a half hours... Quite a feat but then again, she is a very good singer... i guess i don't have to worry about carrying more that half of the singing during gigs... Only one cloud of doubt polluting my mind at the moment... Will she be able to handle the stage-fright? That remains to be seen i guess... but according to her, she's more than ready...

I hope so... and definitely, this is a very good development for Candyaudioline... Sad to say that i can't say the same thing about Soft Pillow Kisses who at momment is undergoing one of the very worst crisis it has undergone in quite a long time... and really, it saddens me...

halluw! ngehe..wala magawa kanina kaya eto mag post daw hehe.. pumunta ko praktis ng pillow kanina akala ko praktis din candy ayun pala pillow lang haaayy.. tama ba na si jinky na vocalist natin? yari tayo dyan ngaha! flip mode pa naman palagi yun. Jinky wag ka mapapraning sa mga banat namin ah hirap sa taong yan wag lang may masabi ka na hindi okay sa kanya kahit akala niyang joke lang seseryosohin niya mas lalo na pag may kinalaman sa performance niya on stage hehe.. Jinky mag suot ka ng posas pag tugtog na ah pra kang si Basti Artadi ng wolfgang eh anlupit ng moves mo ngehe.. magiisip na nman yan panigurado magpapraning praningan na naman yan pag nabasa niya hehe.. peace lang tayo pag tugtugan na kalmado lang palagi panic-boy na nga ko gagaya ka pa sa akin ngaha!

The title of this post is taken from a Soft Pillow Kisses song with the same title... but the song has nothing to do with contents of this post what so ever...

Here's something new... but not that new really when you know Candyaudioline...

We're "again" looking for a new vocalist and i'm considering Jinky (Ex-Soft Pillow Kisses)... i think she's a good choice because of the fact the we all like her a lot specially when she's being her "Psychotic-self" and at the same time, she's a very good singer... the only drawback in getting Jinky is her tendency towards being so "Stagephobic"...

i remember the time when she was my bandmate in Soft Pillow Kisses that she really gets scared when she's about to go upstage, specially infrot of a large crowd... She quit Soft Pillow Kisses the day after we played at Don Bosco Mandaluyong infront of about 3000 kids via a very dramatic text message... hope she's a different person now... you should try talking to her over the phone... she's really funny for a girl... hope she get's over her stage fright...

by the way, i got an email from Sir Michael Willie about his thoughts while watching Candyaudioline's set at Vida De Malate last Thursday:

great but short gig the other night. I quite liked it. I heard some Jesus & Mary Chain, loads of Ride and My Bloody Valentine and one song started out like She Bangs The Drums or Elephant Stone. Nice blend of styles and bands.

I read about the Fete de la Musique in the paper this morning, any bands you could recommend. I would like to see indiepop bands of course but also a Ska band would be nice. I guess metal and punk are there in abundance. And keep me updated about what other Buzz Night bands would be playing next week. I will leave on saturday.

Ang saya naman ng gig dami lang mga alagad ni pancho dun apoy na lang kulang impyerno na ngaha! Maayos ang gig kahit laspag na mga amps with feelings naman kami lahat nag perform kaya masaya pa rin.. May bisita pa kaming boylet ni Allan na imported hehe..Sana palagi ganun malas ko lang wala ako adaptor nun mas pogi sana tayo bandmates hehe hindi ko kasi mahigilap si arjay nasa kanya yun eh miss ko na rin ung payatot na yun hehe..tanda ko pa dati mga 2 weeks lang ako sa kanila tambay inom lang at mang hunting kami sa gabi ng mga bagong paligo at amoy safeguard na mga bata at ayain namin umiinom sa kanila ngaha joke lang! Next gig ulit sana masaya pa rin sana din matupad na pangarap natin Allan na magandang vocalist, sexy, at mahilig hehe... sa music lang waahhh.. katsheng! sheng!

Weird Gig: But Fun Just The Same...

This is Me and behind me, Charles, Maggot, Rene, Kel and Dennis... Yup, This is how close Candyaudioline and Soft Pillow Kisses really are... Just look at the empty plates and the Happy Faces... Janpol didn't made it to the practice while Marian had to leave early... Cuckooh on the other hand did something during this practice session that made me and my bandmates (in both bands) decide that she isn't the vocalist that's right for Candyaudioline...

last night we played at vida de malate... it was a bit weird because of the bands that were lined-up that night... well, i didn't actually had an idea that it was a decidedly ROCK affair... arriving at the venue, i noticed throngs of black-clad kids... not the typical Goth types but more of the local rock crowd that you usually see at local rock events...

well i got a bit uncomfortable because for one, i just remembered that Candyaudioline was playing without a vocalist that night and second, i was to meet Sir Michael, a frequent reader of this little blog of ours, who i invited to the gig... Sir Michael by the way is from Germany (he just arrived yesterday) and likes C86 type of music, Sarah and Postcards Records stuff, reason for me to be a bit embarrassed at making him watch us play at such an event... hehehe... he was quite cool though... he even gave me three 7"vinyls of German bands that we released through his own label (Blue Records) back in the early 90's... we weren't able to talk too much because by the time he arrived (together with a friend) we are about to play already...

...so there we were setting up, i can't help but be annoyed at how my amp sounded and at maggot's bass amp too... i was beginning to smell trouble... also the crowd made me feel uncomfortable but i guess they were there just to have a good time... so we made a go at it with "an empty you" and boom!!! i felt like melting because i can't hear myself singing and my amp too wasn't within hearing range... good thing rene (soft pillow kisses) was there to make sure that i was doing well... we were a bit lost after that first song so we had trouble deciding what to play next and settled doing "something wrong" which i think alienated the crowd a bit but i thought the song helped us settle down a bit... we were supposed to play 4 songs but i thought that i wanted to do something that we don't usually do (at that's playing cover songs)... we did "light years", yup the eraserheads song, as our third song just to loosen us a bit more... as expected, the crowd liked it... i admit that i enjoyed it as well, hehehe... then we did "felt so fine" and ended the whole thing with "my silver chair" due to insistent (minority) public demand... after our set i went outside the venue to breathe air and smoke... it wasn't bad at all and i tried convincing myself that we did a decent set... went back to the venue to find Sir Michael about to leave... i hope that he enjoyed our set even with just me singing... i felt we would have been more confident if we had a proper vocalist that night...

i just wish we could find one the soonest possible time... a vocalist who'll be more interested in the thing that we're doing and not use the band as an image builder or an escape form whatever...

kel, did well just as he promised... maggot too, she was up to it i guess... dennis too, inspite of the constant feedback coming from his amp... thanks rene... reneh!!!

Again, thanks to Sir Michael for coming and for the 7" records... and also to his friend Ma'am Mabel... hope that the Soft Pillow Kisses gig at Freedom Bar pushes through next Wednesday (June 27)...

Buzz Nights On A Weekday...

hello peeps...

i've decided to make BUZZ NIGHT a weekday affair... hope this will only be a temporary thing... i'll move it back to saturday once i find someone who'll be able to handle it in my absence... i'm thinking of moving it on a thursday, propably the 2nd thursday of each month... hopefully things would take a turn for the better... i'm open to suggestion too...

also, i've been allowed only 6 bands per night so please bear with me... any bands out there who wish to play buzz nights, just inform me anytime thru this blog... and be sure that you fit the tag. ok!

Worse Gig... Missing The Good Ones Aready...

Hello Peeps...

Just got home and i just can't help lamenting at the gig we play last night at Mayrics... i guess it would go down in Candy-history as one of the truly worse one ever...

My amp sucked, kel was really annoying me with his "timings" and "far-out-extra-unnecessary-drum-notes", maggot was playing bass as if she she hadn't been playing for this band for quite a long time now and cuckooh keep bugging me with really irritating gestures and quirries... it really ruined my whole perception of this band slowly gelling together once more...

we've been having regular practice sessions for quite sometime now and i was expecting us to be really "sharp" last night but it seemed that was all for nothing i suppose...


chatting with dennis, we've come to put the blame heavily on kel... he is suppose to be the second senior member of the band next to me yet he's not acting his role in the band... he always (in my opinion) tries to show off... always trying to pull-off those paterns that don't really do justice to the songs... not really being bent on acting like any of my bandmates have no right to put something of their own to my songs, but i guess there's always a standard to it. and what kel was doing last night and even in most of the gigs that we do seems to do more harm to the songs... what's the point in showing-off when all it does is make the songs and the band looking like "a bunch high school kids rehearsing for the first time"... i'm also blaming maggot for the fuck up for if she had only arrived at my suggested call time, she wouldn't have felt "harrassed" and could've been more settled down and relaxed playing the bass... cuckooh on the otherhand had her mind somewhere else... actually i told her that it was okey if she could not be with us last night but she insisted that she wanted to sing but when we were on stage, she kept pestering me about which song is which, and how was the song was to be sung etc etc... it made me feel really awkward to a point that i too lost my concentration making me look like someone trying to keep his cool while obviously losing it... plus that stupid amp... or maybe it was the battery of my RATT running out... but...

looking back, if only kel kept each song in proper time and tempo which i am very sure he could possibly do given his God-given talents as a drummer, i guess it could've been less obvious that we were fucking up...


gigs like these make me miss the days when this band was really "OK"... i miss the feeling of climbing up the stage very confident with the idea that each and every member of candyaudioline will be relying on one another to make things look and sound good...

i miss the times when i had a "not very-skillful" drummer but was willing to be the drummer that i wanted him to be and in the process improving his capabilities...

i miss the time when i had a bassist who, inspite of not really being into the tpye of music that this band was playing, always played her heart out not only on stage but off stage...

i miss the time when i had a guitarist who was truly proud of being a member of this band to a point that he was the one making the band sound and the the same time look so good...

i miss the time when i had a singer who was very shy and very conscious at the way she is inspite of her being pretty and all but once on stage, she was willing to take charge and happily embraces the idea that she is the voice and the face of candyaudioline...

as for me, i miss the time when i was still a very good song writer, i also miss the time when i wasn't afraid to kick a member out of the band anytime i wanted... i also miss the time when i don't have to worry a thing about this band...

so what is happening to Candyaudioline? should i give up? are we losing steam? is this a sign to just fade away into forgottenville? I HOPE NO!!!

Today by Smashing Pumpkins - Wala lang, napag-tripan lang... I hate reggae so much that i had to incorporate it sa isang kanta bakasaling masakyan ko na rin. and i happen to choose this one kasi "parang" bagay gawing reggae ang kantang ito eh. Ayun, d ko pa rin trip ang reggae...

Light Years by Eraserheads - i don't really listen to this band pero i admit that they are one of the best bands that our beloved country has ever spawned. we did a take on this song and i guess bumagay sa amin sobra... Plus this song has one of the best lyrics (simple lang) ever written...

muntik na rin namin banatan ang "If You're Not Here" by Menudo pero ginawa na pala ng kamikazee yun...

That's that muna for the meantime... hope maayos kami ulit...

Malungkot Na Buzz Night... Pero Masaya Pa Rin

Hello...

Ang lungkot ng Buzz Night... Halos walang tao tapos iilang lang ang banddang tumugtog... Pero tingin k OK na rin na ganun... Cguro nasimulaan lang ng pagkabadtrip ko kina Charles at Dennis kaya nadala na ang mood ko hanggang matapos ang gabi... Ewan ko ba kasi kung bakit may mga taong hindi marunong magpahalaga sa usapan at sa oras... Pero it's all water under the bridge ika' nga... I was able to do something to compensate Charles and Dennis' short comings...

11pm na wala isang banda pa lang ang pwede na tumugtog, Isolation... Pero hindi naman pwedeng "ice breaker"cla lagi d ba? actually kulang nga cla pero tumugtog pa rin... same with Aurora Borealis (thanks guys pero d ko talaga trip yung kumakanta sa inyo at rip-off pa yung last song nyo!!!)...

Candyaudioline kicked off the seemingly gloomy evening... i guess this has got to be the best performance we had in a very long while. Sobrang enjoy kami that we played 8 songs yata... Rene (Soft Pillow Kisses) di magnificently well playing bass for us in place of Maggot who had to back-out at the last minute due to her studies... Also Cuckooh sang decently well this time around... Nag-improve na talaga... At sinunod nya yung dress code ng konti... Kel on the otherhand was pertty cool that evening despite obviously not his normal "bibbo" self due to him just coming off a bout with a very critical desease... Dennis also did well inspite of being under pressure for he was to play bass for Populardays (He, i think is their new bass player)...

Next was Isolation Ward... d ko cla gaanong napanood coz i was so exhausted after Candyaudioline's set... Although i did hear them play while i was resting outside... these guys are really great... sana next time, kumpleto na cla...

Populardays came shortly after Isolation Ward... Their back in top form... Perfect performance cla kagabi... Dennis played well and i guess ginanahan clang lahat... I missed listening to their songs... Lalu na yung "Watch Out For Me"... Panalo talaga... yung nga lang may slight short coming lang with regards to their songs... They lack variety... all of their songs have the same scope of emotions and feel... and i guess "eating the same set of meals" in a single day isn't that enjoyable really... Pang short set lang cla... 4-5 songs enjoyable pa cla... pag lumampas dun, the magic wears thin na... Shove that aside, they are still the best "indie band" act there is at the moment... (Pustahan tayo!!! May mag-rereact dyan once umabot ito sa mga kina-uukulan...) Mga Pop-chongs... hantayin nyo lang na mag-retiro ako at kayo na ang NUMBER 1!!!

Aurora Borealis ang sumunod... Eto lang masasabi ko!!! Palitan nyo na yung kumakanta sa inyo!!! Pangit talaga!!! Ang pangit!!! PANGIT!!! HUWAG NYO NA PAKAHTAHIN YAN PLEASE LANG!!! hanap kayo ng bokalista na nakatira malapit sa langit... Kuha nyo na yung tunog... Pwede na yung mga kanta nyo, hit na hit yan sa mga "indie" dto... "Familiar" so to say... Meron kayong katunog from the beyond the Philippine Archepelago, yan ang gusto ng mga malalamin dto sa Pilipinas... Tang-ina since mula pa noon hanggang ngayon pa ba naman...

Huling banda ang Soft Pillow Kisses... Jinky took Marian's place for this gig only... Galing kumanta ni Jinky... Hay nako...

Maggot Update For Maggot Fans...

Hello Everyone...

I finally got a chance to talk to Maggot... Maggot would like to say "Hi" to her fans and would also take this as an opportunity to say sorry to them for her being "away" for such a long time now... According to this superstar-audioliner, she very busy with her review and has asked yours truly that she'll be shying away from the lime-light for the time being to concentrate on her studies... Quite sad indeed but she'll be playing this Saturday. So all you fans of Maggot, i suggest you take this opportunity to catch a glimpes of her "Hotness" bacause after Saturday's gig, she'll revert back to invisible mode... but she did promise me that she'll try to show up at gigs every now and then if her time permits... Oh yan Dennis, ngiti naman dyan...

Kel, pagaling ka ha... kailangan na naitn ibangon ang karangalan (Meron nga ba?) ng Candyaudioline...

Aside from Charles, i have also designated Rene (Soft Pillow Kisses) to do Bass Chores for Candy...

Hello Eveyone...

Buzz Night will take place next Saturday, June 2... Exactly a week from now... Problem is, i still have no bands lined up until now... but don't worry, i'll have a line up in 3-4 days time... as usual expect the regular line-up cosisting of us, soft pillow kisses, my science project etc... hopefully this time around, we'll have populardays, tether and isolation... hope to line-up new names...

not much to say really about last night's gig... i guess we did quite well... Thanks to Charles for filling in or Maggot who's very busy with her review right now and at the say time, we don't have any idea on how to get in touch with her... Cuckooh on the otherhand did well according to friends who were able to see her play but me on the otherhand wasn't quite satisfied at the way she fared last night... she could've been more than what she was last night based on the last preparations that we did a night before yesterday's gig... oh well, i did feel the pressure that she was feeling that night... and dami ba naman nagulat na cya na yung bagong singer namin ngayon...
i was feeling a bit off too and so was kel... blame it on the venue's (Mayrics) "Airconditioned-less" atmosphere... Sana nag-70's nalang kami... kaya lang, the best pa rin ang mayrics para sa mga bandang who go for all out noise...

Bawi nalang cguro nextime around... Hoy Maggot!!! Paramdam ka naman... Miss ka na namin!!!

isn't that a nice thing to hear/or to read about specially now for i feel that the morale of this band is a bit low due to the fact that it is being reborn again for the nth time... i admit that maybe it's my fault. but the hell with it... okey

Improving I Guess...

Hello everyone...

Our new singer, Cuckooh has already 2 gigs under her belt and i can say that she has already improved a lot... i guess her progress has sped up a bit... thanks to the practice sessions and her interest to sing for Candyaudioline...

At Buzz Night last May 5, she had a difficult time singing songs that were sung in a low voice... according to a bandmate from Soft Pillow Kisses, she was at a lost during songs like "An Empty You" and "Flaming Walls"... quite understandable because i did see that it wasn't really her range but i believe that it can be fixed thru practice... Yesterday, we played a gig somewhere in Cubao... a very awkward gig for us because of the sound system... infact, i was really thinking of not pushing thru with it because it would really do us harm if Cuckooh did not deliver the right notes... the set-up was more of a PA system than a gig set-up... the vocals would really be way up... but i decided to get on with it... before our slot, i got Cuckooh to practice with me in some quiet area within the venue. during that short impromptu session, i had a chance to observe the real quality of her voice... it was a bit surprised at how smooth it was... no more trembling-out-of-pitch tones. her pronounciations as well were almost what i had wanted and what i had taught her... this got me excited and i was so eager to test it at once. it was also a chance for me to prove to some bandmates that she was a good choice for a Candyaudioline vocalist... but still, i had some doubts...

before going up stage, she was begging me to back-out because she knew so many people from the crowd. i told her that i think it was the proper gig to test her improvement. she half-heartedly agreed to sing... so there we were doing our first song "Flaming Walls" - one song which she was always having trouble with... i let her be the louder voice at first but 3 words into the song, i heard ver voice cracking and going out of key so i instantly sang louder then her and hoped that she would become relaxed and in the process, be able to execute the songs the way she did during the impromtu rehearsal we did... i was not let down... from that time on did sing moderately well... that was enough for me for the meantime...

all i have to do now is help her improve more and hopefully become a better vocalist that the last one we had...

a bit exhausted from my trip but me and dennis finished three dvds yesterday and we even had the strength to go out, have a good time and, you know...

Can't Sleep...

i should've been sleeping in preparation for my Dubai trip in less than 9 hours from now... but i can't sleep... excited lang cguro...

well, i'll be out of the country for about 5 days... i miss last saturday's gig for both candy and pillow... both bands just have to wait...

spiderman 3 was quite good...

wish we could be able to jam and finish the new candyaudioline song soon... just can't wait to see how it comes out... it ain't heavy this time around, i promise...

Hello Everyone...

Candyaudioline's set at last Saturday's Buzz Night was really great... I was anxiously looking forward to play that night because it was going to be a test of sorts for me and Cuckooh...

All my friends and bandmates felt that she would not be able to cut through but based on last night's performance, i guess it would not take long for me to make her sing the way i wish she'd sing... i think she has potential and i'm very optimistic again...

And fate seems to be smiling at this band once more...

Yes Dennis, we did sound awesome that night... Everyone seemed to be up to it. Specially Maggot who effortlessly played her heart out... "We've Been There" sounded like a monster and so did "Wicked Glances"... Too sad we did just 8 songs... I was already starting to forget how great Candyaudioline is.

Thanks to last Saturday's set... Great gig BANDMATES!!!

Easter's Just Around The Corner...

hello everyone...

just a while ago... i was typing this very long entry about my frustrations with one Candyaudioline member... all of a sudden, the window closed and along with it, my sentiments...

i can no longer post that one since i won't be able to remember all the things that i wrote in that "lost entry" full of harsh words...

nevertheless, i'll say it again... "i've had enough, time to move on... no more sense in being at the same spot for all eternity... perpetuity lies in action and to be stagnant is just a mask for plain stupidity" ... i've given it all some thought and have come to a decision...

tonight we will be playing at Caloocan High School

Easter is just around the corner for this band... hopefully tonight will be a good one for all of us...

sana makahabol si cuckooh... ayos pa naman yung one on one practice namin kagabi... very promising indeed...

April na and for the past 12 gigs or so 2 lang kami na buo kami tumugtog this year... ang lungkot naman...

i'm listening to an album from the Lucksmiths right now... sobrang melodic nila... nakaka-inggit...

last night, kahit d kumpleto yung two bands ko, we went on practicing both as Candyaudioline (Wala si Maggot at absent si Kel) and Soft Pillow Kisses (w/o Marian and Rene)... we practiced as Candyaudioline to prepare Charles for the gig tonight (Birthday Gig ni Tether-Dwane) as for Soft Pillow Kisses naman, gusto ko lang subukan yung bagong kantang nagawa ko... After practice, Mavi asked "Bakit ang Candyaudioline walang bagong kanta?"... Don't worry, magkakaroon din tayo ng mga bagong kanta...

i just have to let go of a few things and accept what's coming... Lalim noh? naku... i can see some people smiling...

Buzz Night April 7, 2007 BLACK SATURDAY

hello everyone...

have been very busy with work during the past few days... haven't posted for quite sometime... it's been almost a month since my last post...

candyauduioline hasn't been very active during the past month due to a number of reasons. the most telling of which is maggot's absence... we have benn able to deal with that for the meantime... charles of Populardays/Soft Pillow Kisses will be filling in for Maggot for the meantime...

we will be playing this Saturday at Buzz Night and we'll be having 2 gigs this coming April 12. One at Makati and the other one at timog...

hello everyone...

okey na okey yung buzz night last saturday march 3... complete attendance lahat ng bands tapos nadagdagan pa ng isa...

so here it goes...

mizwa was up first... kulang cla but they still played... save for their name, okey cla... won't comment muna for the meantime, basta okey sila, very promising... next to go upstage is isolation. gustong gusto ko talaga itong bandang ito. dreamy yung tugtugan, ethereal yung tunog ng guitars pero very pinoy yung vocals (not in a bad way of course). kulang din cla that night pero ayus pa rin... my science project yung sumunod. wala yung keyboardidt nila pero okey na okey sila nung gabing yun (pwera lang yung vocals)... mas naging bida yung mga guitars kaya nagtunog pogi cla... sana nextime, pagkumpleto na cla, napag-aralan sana nila yung proper interplay between guitars and keyboards. pag nagawa na nila yun at natuto kumanta ng maayos yung singer nila, then that'll be the time na pwede na sila seryosohin... candyaudioline yung sumunod. wala si denis pero nandun naman si ralph. as usual, muka nanaman kaming malufet hehehe. ganado lahat dahil bumalik na si mavi... populardays came next. wala yung bassist nila so kel from candy played bass from them. okey din naman cla that time pwera lang dun sa new song na tinugtog nila, walang dating. ayusin nyo yung charles... more emphasis dun sa vocal melody okey?... tether followed. medyo pilay sila nun kasi wala nga si dennis... but still, their songs made them look great... this band deserves more attention... soft pillow kisses followed, sobrang nasarapan kaming tumugtog nun kaya inabuso ko na ang kapangyarihan ko and played 6 songs instead of the alotted 5 song... tingin ko pati yung mga nandun eh nasarapan din... don't deny it... dayuhan played next... i didn't get to watch them play because i had to make hatid mavi pauwi... pero according to khismet (a friend who's taste i trust most) okey daw yung bandang yun. i'll try to catch a glimpse of the next time around... skies of ember played next, medyo disappointed ako sa set nila... they're a great band kasi but i don't get it... why do they have to play cover songs... happydays followed. medyo far-out na ako by that time pero i still caught a glimpse of the group... no comment...

anyway, happy ako sa naging outcome nung buzz night nung saturday... most of the bands that played that night made me realise na there's still something to look forward to in the future... to answer a post that i recently read in our tag about scenes and eksenas...

"i don't see Buzz Night as a scene/indie scene anymore... it's just an outlet for bands and individuals who i find very interesting and worth my time..." "scenes are for those who need / want to be a part of something. i honestly believe that i'm beyond that and so is Buzz Night"
