The Good News

hello everyone...

again, i've been very busy during the past few days. work has swallowed up most of my time not giving me a chance to tell you that candyaudioline is back together again. we started practicing again last sunday (feb 5) followed by another practice session 2 days after... we are prepairing ourselves for the next batch of gigs that we'll be having specially the one at miriam college this coming saturday and the 2 up fair gig nights that we'll be participating in. one on the 15th and the other one on the 17th. plus an afternoon gig at the makati cinema square area also on the 15th...

we have been on a slump during our last few gigs last january and have just gone thru one of the most serious dilemnas i've ever encountered for this band's in it's entire 9 years of existence. for 2 weeks everything was hanging in the balance. gladly, everything has been settled and set aside. the four latest members (kel, dennis, arjay and mavi) is now fully adjusted to their respective roles in the band. kel has been keeping his promise to keep things as steady as possible, dennis is showing more confidence, arjay has been adding more flavors to each song with his truly remarkable bass skills, mavi on the other hand has given the band a new voice, youthful and quite innocent. a stark contrast to the blissfully offensive sound that this band has been known capable of doing... plus the fact that this band has been drawing itself to a more solid yet non-personality approach to things relieving me of the heavy burden of being "candayudioline" myself... as for me, i'm beginning to feel really old and wasted...

in fact during the last practice session, they were able to commence practice without me directly participating... i was a bit preoccupied with soft pillow kisses who at that time was also having a practice session taking turns with candyaudioline every 30 minutes, in preparation for tonight's acoustic performance (we'll be doing 4 new songs tonight) at pasig kapitolyo, in a bar called "kamarada". the same venue wherein candy played one their most recent and chaotic but quite enjoyable set just barely a month ago...

seeing them play without me and executing each song as if they've been together for quite a long time made me really happy. at least i can be assured that this time around, candyaudioline be able to do more gigs with or without me...

by the way... today is dennis' birthday!

happy birthday dennis! thanks for joining candyaudioline... thanks for your patience and perceiverance... and thanks for the many great thing you did for this band and me...

i would just like to thank selena for taking time to fix this blog last night and putting up with my rantings twice yesterday during office hours (hehehe) tama ka nga selena...
