Improving...

Hello everyone,

we had a gig at mayric's last night and i guess we did really well... almost "really well" save for the first song "Light A Candle" which was a bit too fast, but after watching the video, it wasn't that bad after all... Elaine has also improved a lot and she's able to do things on stage as she pleases... she even ordered a bottle of beer on stage (which she later denied telling me that she was just asking for water)...

it was quite fun really with her goofing off every now and then which made me lose my focus every once in a while, the most obvious of which was during the 3rd song "Pretend That We're Smart" wherein i was going to sing my part when all of a sudden i recalled a funny gesture she made which almost made me laugh while singing and in the process made me deliver an embarrassingly flat line...



i'm looking forward to future practices and gigs plus some future problems and confusing dilemmas in the months to come... do you know what i mean? Just wait and see... hopefully, we'll pull through...

Elaine's First Gig... And Buzz Night On The 16th Of January...

Hello Everyone...

Last night was Elaine's first gig... it was a bit of a let down because of the following reasons...

First is because i didn't have enough time to give her pointers on what to do and expect once we got on stage... the reason was because we were all caught off-guard when the band before us ended their set abruptly... i was expecting them to play at least 30 minutes but i guess they did only about 10 or 15 minutes the most... This was because all the bands came in late save of a band or two including us... because of this, each band were given 3 songs each to play which in turn forced me to choose only 3 of the 5 songs we had in store... which points us to the second reason why her first gig was a bit of a let down...

i guess if we were allowed 5 songs then Elaine would've had enough time to warm up and be settled down by the 3rd song... i was hoping to play "Light A Candle" first since she was so comfortable with it but instead we had to go with "Flaming Walls"... she's been having problems with this one specially during the loud portions... This was supposed to be the 3rd song after "All Smiles" (another song which we didn't play)... We did "Felt So Fine" next which i later realized was a very wrong choice (Sorry Elaine...) She was obviously at a lost since this was a bit louder than the first song... although by the middle part of "Felt So Fine" i noticed the she was singing properly already... The last song we did was "Pretend That We're Smart"... By this time she was already comfortable but she kinda lost wind a bit for her voice level wasn't the same as the first 2 songs...

The third and last reason for the let down was Dennis... He took about 15 minutes to set-up his stuff and this caused me to lose focus a bit and be very conscious to a point were i forgot to give Elaine a last minute pep talk and tell her to move as she pleases... If i had a shotgun i would've shot his brand new Gadget to smithereens...

Looking back at it all, i could say that it was just a minor setback... and it was still fun... i was really exited about this gig... I wish the we could've played first and did all 5 songs as planned but...



Ang popogi pa naman namin kagabi... Thanks Elaine for sharing your good looks with us... hehehe...

Anyways, there's always a next time... For sure that next time would be far better that this one...

I'll Just Keep My Mouth Shut...

Hello Everyone...

I was able to read a Multiply Post by Cuckooh... well that's the way she saw things... i wanted to reply but i realize that it would just be a total waste of effort and time... i decided to just let her see things the way she wants to see it... Although i did text her and explained my side as to why i was avoiding her and giving her the cold shoulder treatment...

I was really patient with her both as a friend and a band mate but there are times that giving up is the best option... i don't like giving up on friends but this one was really exhausting... what's worse is that she saw it in a malicious way... "Sorry Ha... You're very wrong"... She even had the nerve to call me an Asshole...

the only wrong thing that i'll admit doing was not telling her that she has already been replaced... what can i do? Sa sobrang tinamad at walang gana na sa kanya eh ultimo pag text sa kanya eh tinatamad na rin ako...

Lesson Learned: Sa Basketball Lang nangyayari yung "Turning Garbage Into Gold"...

We had another practice session last night which i tried filming but because of my placing the camera on top of my amp... the audio of the footages were predominantly distorted guitar sounds...

had time a while ago to play with most of the footages and this is what it has become of it...



the audio for this footage came from the very fist lay-in session we had for this song (Pretend That We're Smart)... A raw with no over-dubs yet....

I'm not doing anything right now so... Inayos ko yung multiply accounts ng Soft Pillow Kisses at Candyaudioline... For Candyadioline, binago ko yung template nya tapos nag add ako ng mga pics... Tapos, inedit ko rin yung Welcome Box to allow mp3's of our songs to be played every time someone views our multiply account... Technology nga naman...

Excited na ako sa practice tonight... actually lahat kami excited... syempre, bago vocalist namin at mukang maayos pa kumanta... pag nagkataon, d na ako masaydong kakanta... i wopuld be able to focus more on playing my guitar nang sa ganun eh makadagdag pa ako sa pwede naming ilabas na tunog... yun lang d pa cya siguro makaksama sa amin sa Wednesday gig namin sa Dayo Bar sa Cubao next week...

Hello Everyone...

Happy New Year to all of you!!!...

After a lackluster performance during the last Buzz Night (December 26, 2007), i decided to seriously look for a new singer... it wasn't easy... I tried many times looking via internet, to a point that it almost felt really stupid... i tried chatting and messaging prospects from countless sites like, myspace, multiply, friendster (where i got ex-Candy Bassist - Maggot), yahoogroups, etc. etc...

then we also tried looking by means of the old fashion way... The "direct approach" method... wherein we'll go to a certain spot in the city where there are lots of girls and we'll approach them directly asking them if they would want to sing in a band... this method proved to be very tiresome... actually. none of us really had the guts to approach girls... although i tried once and this was what i got... hehehe



That was really quite an embarrassing situation... i'll never do that again... promise...

Luckily, there was this other prospect of mine (an old friend, one of my movie watching mates) whom i approached just about a month ago, who i remembered, promised me that she'll try out... i way able to caught up with her last night and after a few attempts for trying to escape from me, she unwillingly agreed to audition... here she is...



we were able to finish only 2 songs with her but i guess me and my band mates were quite pleased with her... i guess she liked it too... we talked about the terms of being a part of this band to which i said to her that she would not be having any problems and that we'll go by with her availability, meaning, we'll not obligate her, specially at times when her availability would be in question (even at the last minute)... quite stiff you might say but better than none i guess... Nothing's sure yet... it's all "wait and see" for now... Hopefully...

So for the meantime, this is who we (Candyaudioline) are...
