Ang Tahimik Naman Natin...

hello everyone...

tila yata walang may balak mag-post etong mga kabanda ko sa Candy... nakakalngkot naman... d na nga ako natuloy mag-candy dto sa US tapos wala man lamang akong balita sa mga bandmates ko...

oh well, we're just 2 weeks away from completing this tour and i'm really looking forward to going back to the Philippines... yus naman dito at napaka-ganda pa... dto ng pala ako Las Vegas ngayos kung saan napakaliwanag ng mga ilaw na akala mo ay isng napakalaking perya ang lugar na ito...

na-lampasan ko na ang introvert phase ko at unti-unti na rin akong nakiki-salimuha sa mga kasama namin dto... okey naman sla at very maasikaso sa amin... tumataba na ga ako lalo sa sobrang asikaso eh... ehehehe...

yang lang muna...

to my bandmates, post naman kayo oh... nalulunkot ako pag wala akng nababalitaan sa inyo eh...

Peter, Bjorn And John With The Clientele...

hehehe... d alam nitong mga members ng clientele na they were with one of the greatest indie personalitly of recent times... hehehe... here are 2 pics, one with the band and the other with its lovely keyboardist / violinist... sayang d ko nakunan yung peter, bjorn and john...

saya talaga dito sa states... isipin mo kung cno cno lang pwede mong mapanuod dito... kahapon, Peter, Bjorn and John with The Clientele naman yung pinanuod ko... sobrang biglaan nga eh... as in nalaman namin na may gig cla aroung 4 in the afternoon lang... hay buhay ng naman...

don't really want to give a review but here's a slight comment about the bands and the whole gig in general... Winshire yung venue... sobrang ganda ng lugar, yung ambiance kakaiba, yung band kahit bopols ka eh pagnasaloob ka na eh magfee-feeling intelehente ka na... ganun ang pakiramdam ko kahapon eh... hehehe, para akong nanunuod ng film festival sa Shangrila kung saan napapalibutan ako ng isang katerbang... di ko nalang itutuloy... so on with the show...

i forgot the name of the first performer... girl sha doing mala hope sandoval style singing na mas exage pa... pero magaling sya mag gitara at may dating yung mga pyaesa nya... sa set lang nya maganda yung tunog...

The Clientele went next... di talaga ako masyadong "into" them but i know that they do put out really decent pop tunes... evident naman yung mga tunes nila last night but i was really bothered by how the sounded last night... masyadong laid back... not that the band was intentionally being laid back, it was more of how the sound guy was making them sound on stage... if only the bass was turned up a little bit louder and the drums was made to sound a little bit crisp and brighter, then i could've really enjoyed their set...

Peter, Bjorn and John was the main band of the evening... they really are a great, tight, confident band... great songs kahit na sobrang basic ng iba... they make it up via energy and vibe... yung lang at medyo rock-out cla that night... high light ng set nila was when they were joined by the drummer and the keyboardist of The Clientele dung their "hit" song "Young Folks"... enjoy din ako dun sa mga songs nila kung saan nag-no-noisefest sila sa dulo... hay naku... ang nakasira lang sa kanila ay yung tunog na lumalabas sa PA system ng venue... actually, okey pa rin naman pero sa klase ng gamit na meron yung venue, mas maganda pa sana yung pwede nilang maging tunog nung gabing yun... oh well well well...

... yun lang muna... if may opportunity ako, po-post ko naman sa Pillow-Blog yung Universal Studio gimik namin kahapon... haharharhard-core!!!

Anak, huwag ka na malungkot... mas okey pa rin dyan sa Pinas compared dto sa States... Dto, maluwang ang mga kalsada, maganda mga buildings at mga tanawin, wala gaanong basura, maraming pleasant looking na mga tao, malinis ang hangin, malalaki ang servings ng mga food, maganda mga sasakyan at masasabing may napaka-ayos na systema ng pamamahala... sa Pinas naman eh... aahh... mmmm... huh... just don't be sad okey... ako nga dapat ang malungkot kasi ang taba-taba ko na tapos magkamali pa ako ng nabiling cd nung isang araw... iilan pa lang yung high light ng stay ko dito... yung una ay yun ma-meet ko yung isang friend ko(Patty) dto mismo sa San Francisco... nakaka-aliw din kasi yung pagme-meet namin dahil after ilang attempts namin i-try mag-meet sa manila for the past 2 years (Taga-Paranaque kasi ito eh), eh dito lang pala kami magkikita... isang highlight ng stay ko rito ay ang pagpunta namin kahapon sa Treasure Island Festival... napanuod ko ang Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! as in 6 meters away lang ako pero sablay yung Vivitar Camera ko kaya pangit mga kuha ko then Film School naman kung saan sobrang front na front ako... paksyet yang Film School, ang galing magpatunog ng gitara... na-insecure tuloy yung Shoegazey-ness ko...


To Dennis...

dens, ang pogi ng tunog ng film school... kung nandun lang si rene, pihado kikinis mukha nun sa mga soundscapes nila... kamusta kayo dyan? mukang malabo talaga mag-candyaudioline dito... nakahanap na ba kao ng bagong bahista... Namimiss ka namin nina lorens at pancho, pati sina bords at puto namimiss ka rin paminsan minsan... kamustahin mo nalang clang lahat para sa akin... tumatawag ako sa iyo paminsan minsan eh laging di mo naman cnasagot... tang-ina, parang lab-liham na ito ah... huwag ka mag-alala dens, hahanapan ka namin ng pwedeng pasalubong sa iyo... sana dumating ang araw na makatugtog tayo dito... talo pa rin yung ibang banda rito... angat pa rin tayo at lamang ng malayung-malayo...

Bitter Sweet

Hello everyone...

i miss the philippines and worst, i've gained a lot of pounds... i think i've gained something like 20 lbs or so...

It's been almost a week since i got here and i've been to four places here in the US... honolulu, and maui from sept 8 to 11 then we went to las angeles just last night and now we're in san francisco...

of all the places i've been so far, honolulu and san fransisco's the best...

looks like i won't be able to do a candyaudioline gig here in the states... we've been busy doing lots of things both gig related and shopping...

as of the moment, i've only met one friend from the philippines, patty, who's been here in the states for almost 3 weeks now... she's studying here... i've met up with here about four hours ago and we've just finished wandering around the perimeter of the hotel having a good time laughing and reminiscing stuff from the past and talking to some out-of-touch marketing canadian dude who says the he has a dream of one day blah blah blah... hehehe, she still in the hotel right now just taking a nap... i'll be waking her up in about an hour and a half so the she could go home... i'm so glad that we got to see each other again... it's been a long time already since the last time we got together... ang galing nga eh, dito pa sa States...

there's so much to talk about although not much has really been happening here... there's so much beauty in this place but i still miss my country... can't wait to go back there...

so how's candyaudioline, what will happen to us now that maggot is out of the picture?

hello everybody...

last night i invited both pillow and candy band mates for a practice session which i was planning to turn into a despedida of sorts for me for i am going to the states and will be away for about a month... as usual, everyone was late save for, dennis, kel, pillow mates rene and sir charles... is in short late na kami nakapag start but once we got started, everything was fine... candy went first at around 11:15pm followed by pillow at around 12:30am... we concluded the session at about 1:15am... we stayed a while for the usual kulitan and piktyuran piktyuran... as usual bidang bida si dennis na pasimpleng sinusunog yung syota ni maggot... just when we were about to proceed to our favourite after practice tambayan to satisfy dennis' hungriness, maggot told me that she'll be leaving the country in a month's time and that she might work there... i asked her if she'll be staying there for good and she said "yes"...

well as always, malalagasan nanaman kami... just when things are going on quite well... sayang si maggot... kahit late lagi at sobrang dinodyos na si judy anne santos, kool na kool pa rin sya sa amin... mamimiss namin ang kakikayan, kakulitan at ang kabaklaan nya...
